Its not a personnel change anymore. Its a complete overhaul of the ODI and T20 culture at the ECB. Our players are clearly limited by not being allowed into the IPL and Big Bash. Such bigs scores are as a result of players having the freedom to smash it about and learn in less pressure filled conditions.
Yeah it's just a continuation of the miserable, strait-jacketed Flower percentages method. The players seem so worn down by it all, so miserable. Let's have a bit of a laugh while we're playing. Get Pietersen back in, play with a smile on our faces.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
I think its a result of us putting a lot of stock in the Test Format. But it looks as though we backed the wrong horse long term in that.
I love test cricket, its the format I enjoy the most. But the other window dressing stuff like ODI and T20 are clearly here to stay. If Australia can manage to do all 3 well, so can we.
This will be the best thing for the side. England come home, all eyes on the set up. We get to the 1/4 finals, and people can claim that it was going out against a top side. But this is Bangladesh. We should be destroying these.
I still feel we play as if 250 is a good par score where in reality it's nearer 310 imo. This is a dreadful time for English cricket, reminds me of the mid to late 90's.
Getting worked over by the cricketing superpower that is Bangladesh

We are embarassing now.
The more specialist one day/T20 players can still play in those competitions and in the main tournaments as the calendars do not clash it's just the ECB decide not to pick them for whatever reason.
Carberry and Lumb were 5th and 6th highest scorers in the Big Bash in fact Morgan played in it as well.
I thought the centrally contracted players were asked to stay with England during these things. Or not go out to the IPL. Players like Root, Ali, Broad and stuff never go to these leagues. It has to be to do with the ECB.
