Same. I think we will limp to 200. Heads were well down when they walked off.

            Play suspended.

Think a draw could be on the cards now if we dig in for a bit. Cook is the expert of the 400 ball 100. Time to show us again.

Joe Root, (out for a duck) must be regretting his 'we can win this' rhetoric. When have England ever, ever scored 400 in a day? Even in one day it doesn't happen.

Since Bells 143 in the first WI test he has scored.

                  11, 1, 0, 0, 1, 29, 12, 1.

                  It almost reads like binary

I remember us doing it in on day 1 of the 2nd Ashes Test in 2005. Trescothick

                    Otherwise I don't recall it.

Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I don't even remember that, though that 2005 team had some runs in it. Trescothick was the ultimate opening batsman

Though Cook has discovered some form, and the team is performing better than in the WI I reckon there are still a lot of unanswered problems, and the win against NZ in the first test had them unprepared for test cricket. Don't get me wrong it was a great win, but it would be a travesty if England steal a one nil series win here.

I think there are still a few big questions ahead of the Ashes.

Unlucky in that it went on Umpires Call for both height and hitting off stump. Two Umpires Calls there.

That's unbelievably unfair. You can probably count on one hand how many times a side has scored 400 in a day in the last 10 years. Since Tresco we became number one in the world and enjoyed a real golden period.

We also played some terrific cricket in the last test but when you have a group of young players at the core of the side you are going to ups and downs. It also doesn't help when the captain puts the opposition in
