Yep. What really sets him apart from the rest is just how consistent he is. His mistakes (when he makes one) are barely even mistakes and he's often easily able to scramble his way out of trouble. He's unreal. If his putts are dropping he is pretty much unbeatable.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostScheffler clinic last night, picked up 5 shots in the last 5 holes to go 3 clear. Even this morning - looks like he's having a wobble, Rahm breathing down his neck and just goes back to his fundamentals and then puts a bit of space on the rest and watches them all completely **** up the 'green mile' trying to chase him down
Don't think get enough credit with how exceptional he really is because he doesn't hit the crazy 'glory' shots that guys like Tiger, Mcilroy, Rahm etc do. Nor does he have to hit the crazy recovery shots those guys have had to either. He's so good that he's boring
Would love to see him pick up the other two majors this year to just stamp his mark on how good his last 3 years have been."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

Showed a different side last night, wobbled, Rahm breathing down his neck and he stayed calm and got it done. I think he’ll go on and get double figures of majorsOriginally posted by Harv View PostYep. What really sets him apart from the rest is just how consistent he is. He's just a golf powerhouse.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostShowed a different side last night, wobbled, Rahm breathing down his neck and he stayed calm and got it done. I think he’ll go on and get double figures of majors
I'd be very surprised if he didnt go on to win double figures. He was playing so well last year until that stupid arrest at the PGA. I genuinely thing he was a chance to do all 4 majors in one year, that arrest totally rattled him and he never quite got his game back to where it was prior to the PGA. He still got close in the Open though.
His stats are off the charts over the past 4 years. Like absurdly good, except for putting.
tee to green - 1st
off the tee - 2nd
approaches - 1st
putting - 15th
If he works out that putter and can get say top 10 there, he is basically unbeatable."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

Thing with his footwork is they move after he's already hit the ball. It has no impact on his strike. It's not textbook, but it works for him and he has it dialled in and has done for a long time.Originally posted by RichC View PostYeah, he’s ridiculous tbh. I’ve been waiting for his “dodgy” footwork to catch up with him as they slide all over the place but it doesn’t, it just works for him.
He’s the best on tour by quite a distance and has been for the past few years.
He knows his swing. It looks broke, but it ain't, so don't fix it. Which when you look at guys like Hovland and Homa, that have great swings, but cant help but constantly tinker with it -despite being fantastic golfers and in good form at the time - and then see how much it's completely ****ed them the past two years

Watched a lot of this over the weekend but the rain delay main it too late last night. Just watched the highlights there and JJ Spaun winning on -1 is proper major scoringOriginally posted by Irishnev View PostWatched some of the golf yesterday, last night. That’s a proper test - Major Championships should be won on 2 or 3 under IMO

I also think Bob McIntyre us a future Masters champion, Augusta suits lefties (Phil, Bubba, Weir) and he looks a real player

Yeah love Bob's game. wouldn't be at all surprised to see him win the Open in a few weeks."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

Was an evil course set up. Zero room for error really, even around the greens, you put it 3yds long, left or right and you're in 6inches of rough. Absolutely brutalOriginally posted by Irishnev View PostWatched a lot of this over the weekend but the rain delay main it too late last night. Was nice to see pro's reduced down to our level instead of shooting -15's etc
Was an amazing finish from Spaun, especially with how he started the round, but geez, Sam Burns has every right to feel very aggrieved with that decision to not give him relief from standing water.
Was clearly a lot of water where his ball was. With some of the ridiculous drops you see players get to not give him a drop there was just cruel. Lost him the tournament really.
