Fair ****s to him imo.
He was mentally tortured by the chase to win the masters for a decade having blown multiple huge opportunities to do so. He’s now one back to back joining only three other golfers in doing so. An obsession that becomes a reality. No wonder he is saying ‘green jacket’ a lot.Modifying post.

Definitely. He still had a few gremlins to overcome and tbh I thought he would fade away when he went to -9 after double bogey. But if anything it strengthened his resolve.Originally posted by RichC View PostYou can see him going on and winning a few more majors now.
His tee shot at 18 shows that his nerves are still an issue but he built such a lead that even that horror show didn’t matter. If he can truly conquer his nerves then yep he has the capacity for a good few more. He’s not a robot and that makes him quite compelling.Modifying post.

Think it helped that all the others stopped making birdies too. Dropped the pressure on him IMO.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostDefinitely. If some of those Scheffler putts had gone in (especially 17 ffs how did that not drop!?) or Rose hadn't duffed that chip and then missed that tap in it might be a different story now. Even Cam Young, dude got absolutely nothing from the course all day. He'd be gutted.
He got incredibly lucky on 18 to have that shot available. Most guys in those trees just play it out whatever way they can. His drive was so bad that it actually gave him an opening to get all the way to the bunker
Fair play to him though, he's obviously an all-time great, he has an amazing swing. I just don't like him, everything feels a bit fake and manufactured with him."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

I'm delighted he has another green jacket. There were plenty of green jack paraphernalia yesterday in his hometown of Holywood which i was in yesterday myself. You'd have loved it.Originally posted by Harv View PostThink it helped that all the others stopped making birdies too. Dropped the pressure on him IMO.

Cam young got plenty of luck over his rounds. But Rose must be gutted alright, but i don't think its over for him, just yet.
Back to Rory, i've no idea how he can be so wayward off the tee and still get a major, even when he was flying he was all over the shop. It's lucky he's so long he can almost get away with concentrating on getting a good angle on the approach.

100% - last year Rose had an insane back 9 that would have challenged the nerve of most. But this year the moments when he and Scheffler could have tightened the screws they couldn’t. So in the end the two shot lead was enough to allow for that insane drive at 18. The overhead shot showing where he was and how far they had to move the crowd was wildOriginally posted by Harv View PostThink it helped that all the others stopped making birdies too. was like one of my drives! I think th two shots meant he could have played out wherever and it seems to settle him.
Young was strange from the moment he got a 2 shot lead he literally didn’t sink another putt or even give himself an easy chance for a birdie.
I sort of know what you mean with the dislike, I have the same with Rose but the ups and downs in his game make him a great player to follow on a last day. Ultimately it was a breeze with him left a 6 inch putt FTW.Last edited by Buzzo; 14-04-26, 11:47 AM.Modifying post.

Not sure they'd give a **** what Dave from Chester thinks with all the '**** you' money they've earned tbh
