My word, that game was one of the worst beatings I have ever seen a team take.

Have never seen a team at the top level score 7 goals in a game the way Cork did on their way to destroying dublin.

Two Munster teams in the All Ireland final again too.

Dublin played in a very naive way, man on man with loads of space in front of the full forward line. They said they had to “go for it”, you never beat Cork in an open game, you beat them with power and aggression

Cork will be hot favs vs Tipp but it’s Cork Tipp which is always the toss of a coin. If Cork don’t do it this year then they might never do it! Last year they invested everything into bearing Limerick, they won with plenty in the tank so that might stand to them. Tipp are improving game on game……. v interesting

Cork will be faves as you say, but think it is going to be a cracking game.

For me it is a cannot lose final for the viewer. There is as much chance of a blood and guts dead even game as there is the chance of one team (probably Cork if so) just mauling the other.

The depth of hurling talent between Limerick, Cork, Clare, Tipperary and, to a lesser degree, Waterford at present is almost mind boggling. Think Munster hurling at senoir and under age levels is really benefiting from having so many strong counties as they are all used to having to play against the best of the best all the time and then when they go up against counties from outside the province they tend to have that bit more in reserve or a few extra gears they can go through in a tight game.

Did not see that second half coming.

I am from Cork so I have a big affinity although I lived in Clare most of my life, that was implosion from them. Out fought, out worked and they folded

V hard to recover from that one mentally

Never seen a collapse in a game quite like it. Ws like the boxing over the weekend. One side being mentally bombproof and the other side falling apart under pressure.

The city centre was nuts that second half. A 19 point turnabout in one half.

Absolutely chocca with red shirts (plus one green GAA top and one Blue one, the latter being in a right nasty catfight on Washington street) all day and long lines waiting to get into some bars.

Tons of singing and what not in the first half.

Then the second half hit and it was like the air slowly going out of a balloon until there was near silence in the bar. City centre after the game was full of people looking shell shocked

Was a great game. So intense and a hell of a battle throughout.

For my money today was the two best teams in the country and strong chance of both making the All Ireland final. Even if it is not those two I expect Clare and Tipp to be in with a shout too. Munster hurling is just insanely strong in both depth and quality.

Weather was perfect for it too. Polar opposite to yesterday's weather.

Apparantly there is a chance of me being in a picture taken by a photographer that sends pics to the Limerick Leader and Limerick Post papers. Will be easy to spot if they use it. One green shirt sitting in the middle of about 20 red shirts in a filling station takeaway on the Dock road after the game

Also stopped off in a shop in Buttevent on the drive home from Limerick. Still in my green shirt of course.

Plus a trip up to Limerick always reminds me of how glad I am to no longer live there.

I thought you’d be there all right, I like what Ben O’Connor has to say and I think he’ll be a good addition to the set up. Limerick are imperious in the air, especially at half back and Cork played into their hands a bit. They also let Gillane 1 v 1 and he ended up with 1-6….. can’t be done

Still sickens me to see Kyle Hayes playing…… not a nice guy!

Man should not have a hurling career imo and should be in a prison cell for what he did and for again breaking the law when out on a suspended sentence for that very serious assault

Though assaulting people very much seems to run in the Hayes family given the court appearances for violence by others related to him.

Different rules for GAA players, especially the ones with backers with deep pockets.

Guy in a tracksuit does what he did and he ends up in prison.

                            Agree 100% on Gillane too.

A cheat code and then some. Don't think there is any way to mark him out of a game when he is on form. He is just too good. Even off form he only drops to the level of the best of the rest.

Will be in your neck of the woods in the afternoon, Nev. Leaving to go up to Galway in a few mins and will be dropping in at your old location enroute.

No stopping at Monks coming or going though might try for a stop off in Clarinbridge if I don't get overruled. Bringing one of my god daughters with me (well as soon as she arrives here so we can go) so a very strong chance of being over ruled happening and having to go to an Italian eaterie in Galway city instead.

Will try my best not to send you a text meant for my GF on the way back this time Though I still blame you for that one. If you changed your first name then you and she would not be one after the other on my contact list. Easier to do that than have me actually pay attention to what I am doing.
