All Ireland Hurling Final 2021

Went to the Cork vs Tipp game today at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.


Damn if the Cork team is not starting to develop shades of what made Limerick so good for so long.

Proper hard work married to bucket loads of skill. Real relentless nature to this Cork team too. Everything Tipp threw at them looked as futile as throwing punches at an incoming tide to stop it.

First league title for Cork in 27 years. Will see now if the feeling of winning pushes them on.


The crowd on both sides were great too. Loud as hell and well up for it.


Refuse to believe that the All Ireland title is going anywhere again this year other than Munster. For me, it is Limerick, Clare and Cork, then 23 other counties making up the numbers.

The result at the time topped off a very good weekend for me ( had not gotten the final score in our game at the time)

Totally agree that a competitive Cork is good for hurling. Forces other local counties to raise their game and with so many of the Munster teams being so strong, it just raises the game of each through playing the other.

Yikes - Limerick today…..woof. Part of me thinks Cork had an eye on next weekend but that was a statement win. Lynch an absolute joy to watch, they’ve great backs dominant and the forwards able to win their own ball and score

Had tickets for it but had to give them up as still recovering from my hit of GERD.


So watched it on tv. As you say that was as big a statement win as one could get.

Limerick were brilliant all over the pitch for the entire game and that is made all the more impressive when one takes into account just how good this Cork team is.


Aye for Cian Lynch. Guy is a magician of a player. The total package that can change a game with a single run of pass.



Totally agree about Kyle Hayes too. Comes across as an arrogant entitled ****** with little to no understanding that it is he that is the criminal and that it is he that is the thug. He was interviewed after the game and he dropped in a line about how the "noise" off the pitch gets ignored.

Been a big push to clean his image the past six or seven months and the fact he battered a man twice on the same night, leaving the man with serious injuries, was got red handed by the police doing it but still just ran off, then whilst awaiting sentencing for that savage crime (and let us not forget his two brothers gave another young man a very serious beating using wrenches etc in a separate incident so seems the feeling of we can do what we like runs in the family) he then gets caught doing a nine car overtake at 100mph in a 60mph zone (against witnessed by the police who had to chase him down as not stopping for police seems to be a thing.


Then his court cases for sentencing being rescheduled over and over as there were commitments and in the end not prison sentence at all as he said he would do community service as long as that community service was suitable to him.

I guess when you have enough powerful figures within the Irish sporting and business world willing to suggest that serious assualts etc are just "errors of judgement" that you start to feel bullet proof.


Then again it is not as not plenty of other GAA players and coaches have not walked away from serious crimes that would see any other layperson locked up for years.

Limerick really wanted to lay down a marker and they physically dominated Cork, once they had that then it was going to be a question of how much.

Two good teams.

If you can get to games involving other Munster teams, try to get to a game involving one of Limerick, Cork or Clare as all three are, imo, a level up again when it comes to skill, pace, physicality etc. Especially the first two.


Limerick are playing Clare on Sunday at the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick, and apparantly tickets are still available.
