How many good young 7’s are there available, or any good 7’s available. If he’s fit and able to play I’d say it’s a reasonable thing to do but I don’t really get to watch the NRL as much over here. I think they have a highly rated youngster so maybe having him play a bit part role next year while learning from Reynolds and Hunt could be good.
I wonder what happens with Ezra, don’t think most fans wanted him kept around after what he did. Lots of work to be done at the club which hopefully Maguire can be given time to implement and make the club successful again. Then you have all the old boys making noise in the press because one of their own was fired and a NSW coach came in.

Most analysts over here were saying they should have waited until the end of season to assess how Reynolds was going. Hunt should be playing in the halves, not at hooker , at his age so personally I don’t think they should have signed for another year.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

That’s interesting and I suppose with his injury record recently it makes sense. I think he’s also on a lower wage for someone of his ability which also helps. Is Hunt playing more as a hooker now with Ezra back? They have that young hooker, can’t remember his name now, so it might be a stop gap while he builds up his experience.
Things can change so quickly in sports like the NRL. You can go up and down the table in a season or two. Look at the Bulldogs. For the Broncos I’m more interested in seeing how Maguire has them going next year. Walter’s had one good season in charge and the rest were pretty average.
What are your thoughts on how the Titans are going under Des? Is he the long term coach or will they look for someone new soon. Gold Coast and sports don’t seem to go to well do they although the Suns are looking good now.

Titans are a shambles mate IMO. We just let Josiah Pahulu leave & he’s joined the Storm. One of the most underrated players at the Club who was due a bonus if he played 1 more match last season so the Club dropped him. It was only a few grand but he asked to leave as a result of the lack of respect they showed him.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Do you think they can get it right and it’s how they are run and picking the wrong coaches. I know they lost one of those connections to one of the schools that would produce top talent regularly.
The Gold Coast seems to have a bad track record of teams succeeding. Is the demographic of the place.
Looks like Billy Slater is making some big calls to save his job and get a result in game two. Cherry-Evans out for Dearden and Ezra Mam also called in to the squad. Huge call.

Yeah GC is the Bermuda Triangle of football clubs & talent. The fans will turn up for a successful team but not to watch rubbish . There’s so much to do here competing for ppls attention & bad football won’t put bums on seats. I’d love to see someone like Bellamy take over & instill culture at the place.
DCE’s time was up & Dearden deserves his time. Not so sure Mam even deserves to playing in the NRL never mind the SOO.
The Socceroos just qualified for the WC having beaten the Saudis 2-1 away.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Just saw they qualified. 6 in a row now. I still remember watching that penalty shoot out against Uruguay to finally qualify again and also the previous qualifying and the disappointment of losing to, was it Iraq or Iran, when that idiot ran on to the pitch and caused the huge delay. I remember being absolutely devastated. So good to seem them regularly qualify and playing in Asia has been a big change. Well done Popovich.
Yeah Mam should have been sacked by the Broncos to be honest. The problem with the NRL is he would have been signed up by another club pretty quickly. That May guy has gone to the Tigers after being dropped by Penrith not that long ago. There are plenty of examples. Remember Todd Carney, how many chances did he get?

Yeah I remember the dark days of football over here too. We’d only play 2 tough matches in the whole qualifying process which was tough. The path through Asia gives us many more competitive matches to improve which we’ve done.Originally posted by peterbread View PostJust saw they qualified. 6 in a row now. Yeah the NRL are spineless with these idiots. QLD just appointed Munster as the new captain, a confirmed Coke head

I remember when the broncos signed Matt Lodge and the uproar that went with it. I didn’t really know his history but quickly found out. Then at one stage they were thinking of making him captain.
Didn’t Munster turn up hungover for one origin and played an absolute blinder

What happened with David Fifita ? He was (is?) a great player - had a bit of the Mal Meninga about him - and now is he just injured or sidelined for some reason?Originally posted by SB View PostTitans are a shambles mate IMO. I think he sees himself as an 80 min footballer but he’s not. He was putting in zero effort so he got dropped & turned out for Ipswich Jets in the Q Cup & stunk the place out. Next word was he was injured & now they say he’s ready but refused to play. I think either he or Des Hasler is going to get the boot pretty soon.Originally posted by bacon View PostWhat happened with David Fifita ?
