DIC confirm sharia law policy
Dubai International Capital the investment arm of the Dubai goverment have today released a statement about the possible acquisition of the English Premier League club and 2005 Champions League winners Liverpool Football Club.
Chief Executive Sameer Al-Ansari said earlier "As everyone knows, Dubai International Capital has for some time been negotiating for the purchase of Liverpool Football Club. We now believe that those negotiations are coming to a conclusion and we will be making an accouncement on the Monday 18th February."
Rumours have been circulating around Merseyside that the deal had already been completed and that American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett had agreed to sell the club for a reported fee of around £460m. If the deal does indeed go through it will represent a remarkable period in the history of the Anfield club and will close the chapter on the most turbulent time in the recent era.
However, the nearing-completion deal may be the perfect solution in the eyes of the fans but sources inside the club have said that DIC aim to bring in a stric code of conduct which falls into line with their Islamic Sharia Code of Law.
The consequences of this are yet to be known but Abdul ul Haq of the Muslim Council for Great Britain said that the players would be the ones hardest hit.
"The Sharia governs all aspects of life not just the legal code of society. It establishes rules on behaviour, lifestyle and particularly food. Having spoken to Jamie Carragher and Peter Crouch I understand the that they both enjoy pork sausages and bacon butties all of which would have to go."
"Additionally, the roasting of women is strictly forbidden and sex outside of marriage is punishable by stoning. I have spoken to Peter Crouch about his partner Abigail Clancy and have recommended that he ask her to wear more suitable atire such as burkas which are available to buy on line from all reputable stores."
Mr. ul Haq also wanted to talk about this off-record and said something about the size of the hole that would have to be dug if Crouchie was caught 'engaging in adultery' and pitying the poor ******* that would have to dig it.
He declined to comment further on Yossi Benayoun.

If jokes are to touch on 'sensitive' issues then make damn sure they're funny.
