The "next" Maradonas have already been mentioned, but its a pretty long list. I d like to add Ariel Ortega to that one.

A big dissapointment I remember is Florin Răducioiu who did really well in USA 94 but just tossed it off at West Ham and went shopping with his missus on Oxford Street.

Darren Caskey was supposed to be Spurs next big thing and did nothing, whilst Michael Bridges was a scoring sensation at Leeds before injuries ruined his top flight career.
    Haha good post. NII LAMPTEY!

Didn't know Lentini was still playing...and I'd totally forgotten about DIEGO FUSER!
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Fuser had a good career - the only reason he was mentioned is because he is still playing in Serie D with Lentini (he is 38 years old!)

Nii Lamptey I feel sorry for, both his kids have died, and he was screwed over horribely by his agent and was unable to get out of his contract.

i just read about him...wow what a sad story his career was. I was too young to remember him for Villa, but the name does ring a bell.

Just goes to show that football agents are indeed scum.

Wasn`t the car accident just after the big move? I`m probably wrong about this, as you seem pretty clue up about this.

What about Andy Reid? Or Phil Babb?
People forget how majestic Babb was at the 1994 World Cup. He had the skill.
                            He completely blew his career.

Used to be at Everton now at Bradford I think!

Was touted as the next best thing a centre midfielder captained England all way up to u19's!

Is it me or does every youth England captain or youth team captain never properly make it!!
