Great striker he may have been, but seeing as he retired in 1993, he was hardly the greatest finisher of the 1990's.

ronaldo for me, he was unstoppable before the injuries and pretty damn good after. some of his runs and goals dont look humanly possible and could never be replicated. some great finishers in shearer and fowler, but ronaldo was like a force of nature. a genius with the ball at his feet

Another top class striker was David Hirst (Ex Sheff Wed), he was considered the best forward in England at his peak and I remember reading a debate in the papers about who should partner him in attack for England!

Man Utd attempted to buy him about 6 times for around £5m and he was considered better than Shearer! Had injuries not wrecked his career he could have reached the same heights as Shearer.
        Forwards.......

Always had a soft spot for him, hope he regain good form with AC.

I heard a rumour we were in for him in January, but most people said he was just a fat lazy sod! I disagreed and would have loved him at Anfield. Had injuries not dogged him at Inter he could have been even better. Will never understand why he played v France in the '98 World cup either.

for a player to suffer those injuries and then comeback and do what he did and return to the top is a credit to his character. without a doubt the best player that i have watched!

Based purely on records, Trezeguet would have to be in the mix

Maybe not, but a striker is judged on goals scored, anyother work he does is a bonus. Strikers cost the most cos they win games and Trez has done that on every stage hes played on, including Euro 2000.

Have to say I ws in Milan about 3 weeks ago went to see AC vs Sampdoria!!

Absoloute awful game epitomised Italian footy i ended 1-0 and the worst player on the park by far was Ronaldo, dey subbed him after an hour!!

****in awful no joke up there with the worst I've seen, the fat **** didnt run more than 10 yards and was never in the box when the ball was!!

I loved him back at Barca & Inter even Real to an extent but he is well past it. Let himself go so much its sad to see!!
                            El Nino!!

Ronaldo has to be up there, his scoring record has never dropped, he's incredible.
