Bit like Chelsea's system, before they fecked it up with Sheva and Ballack.
If they do it'll be a disaster. And the Scum fans will hate it, 606 today was full of them complaining about 4-5-1 with Rooney up top.

I know how you always like to call players "the best in the world." but Hargreaves isn't even close to being one of the best.

Hargreaves long term injury was the big reason to Bayerns crap season IMO.

He can also play all over the midfield and as right back so he will be good cover for injured or banned players.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

That was never anything to do with his actual play on the pitch.

You don't play for Bayern Munich for as long as he has, and from such a young age, without being a decent footballer.
Well he was a joke in my opinion and I'm not a neanderthal and I didn't boo John Barnes. Time will tell how he does at Man Utd but I would be surprised if he was in most people's top 5 of holding midfielders.

I agree, there are many better than him.

              Rio £30m
              Carrick £18m
              Rooney £18m
              Hargreaves £17m
              Ronaldo £12m

Good players but probably all considered over priced at time of purchase.
              Another MASSIVE game

His performances on the pitch. Couldn't pass, couldn't dribble couldn't cross it. Basically looked like a fish out of water. He turned it round for the world cup though. I think he'll struggle, but we'll see. A lot depends on how long Fergusson's there. I'd be surprised if he settled in this season.

Not for Bayern he didn't. I've watched quite a bit fo German football the last few year.... shock horror, I even saw them live 3 years ago... and Hargreaves has been a consistent performer for seasons. He isn't the first to have had a few dodgy substitute performances for England.

Both Carrick and Hargreaves are decent players but not worth £33m between them.

In fact the combined current cost of Alonso, Gerrard, Sissoko and Mascherano is £16 million, puts it into context, even wigth Mascher at £10m for arguments sake, it still shows what a waste of money they are in terms of how much was paid.
                            Quit your jibber jabber!!!

Jermaine, you know the song Billie Jean...is it about the tennis player??

Bloody hell! In terms of purchase power (i.e. money), there's Chelsea and Utd, then us and Arsenal, then the rest and Everton (Tesco value).

I remember when Dalglish signed Barnes , Beardsley and Aldridge for something like £1.9m, £900,000 and £900,000. These were considered big amounts back in the day.
