You're talking to the wrong man about criticising Houllier for winning. I got increasingly frustrated with Evans' teams.

Of course, it's not either/or and it's a balance between glory and entertainment. I think it would have been better to give Capello time to build on his success and try to inject more entertainment in the way the team played. I don't entirely buy this stuff that good managers can't adapt their approach.

In short, the Holy Grail is to win by playing entertaining football. Succeeding at one of those really gives you the right to try to get the other too.

Fact is I'm not a fan of flashy football unless there's an end product.

I wasn't replying specifically to you with that comment as I had no idea what you thought about Houllier - your post just made me think about the criticism some people (I'm thinking it was AA but it is irrelevant) were dishing out for getting rid of a dull manager when they called for Houlliers head for basically the same reason.
