Stéphane Guivarc'h. I always liked the apostrophe.

I was thinking last night that Lucas would be much more Brazilian if he spelled his name Lucas' or Luc'as or even better if he was called Lucasinho.

I also thought last night that his name might well be pronounced "Loo-kash".

Sorry to go off-topic. Unlike me I know.
      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

They will still never win anything but at least it keeps them happy.

I agree. I was thinking last night if they got Deschamps, he could have turned them round and have them winning...But they have gone for keegen......

hopefully the keegen circus will keep that idiots at ssn busy and off us for a while.

do you think they will have the same presentation to the people like they did with owen...the best fans in the world
Just look at the face: it's vacant, with a hint of sadness. Like a drunk who's lost a bet.

Oh how i laughed when i saw the news.

They really are a clueless bunch up there. Smacks of a PR exercise and perhaps a touch of Ashley massaging his own ego. For the next few weeks he's gonna be the saviour of the people...the most popular man in the NE (well apart from King Kev himself!).

Doesnt seem to be too much of a thought through appointment. How many managers did they go after ffs? After it seemed obvious that any manager worth his salt wouldnt touch the job Ashley's just plumped for the easiest fan appeasing route.

I just cannot see Keegan being a success, he's tactically naive and just simply hasnt got the players to play expansive free flowing football. Maybe he'll be backed heavily in the transfer market but realistically who are they gonna get?? It'll be hard attracting the top players without the carrot of European football and players will also be reticent to join a club that is firmly established as the laughing stock of the football world.

I just dont understand why they didnt wait til the end of the season to sack Allardyce. Fair enough Ashley didnt want him and didnt appoint him but it's not as if they were going to get relegated and are extremely unlikely to get a European place this season. If they'd waited til Summer they would have had a much wider choice of managers. Mind you I don think they understand the word logic up there.

Saying that Keegan comes across as a jolly nice chap, is a Liverpool legend and was always very friendly to my Mother-in-law when eating in her pizza shop so good luck to him....he'll need it.

...and we get a couple of 4-3 thrillers along the way to boot!
