I think its not a terrible idea but unfortunately the games would probably have be high-profile ones to generate much of a spectacle. I mean, I can't see Newcastle vs Bolton doing much to raise the profile of the Premiership.

You can just imagine it though?

All those fair weather fans that turned up for the L.A. Galaxy game would snap up all the tickets in next to no time leaving loyal/die hard supporters like ourselves watching it on the telly.

          That's what would happen.

          Shocking idea IMO.
          On the Ning Nang Nong
          Where the Cows go Bong!
And the Monkeys all say Boo!
          There's a Nong Nang Ning
          Where the trees go Ping!
And the tea pots Jibber Jabber Joo.
          On the Nong Ning Nang
          All the mice go Clang!
And you just can't catch 'em when they do!
          So it's Ning Nang Nong!
          Cows go Bong!
          Nong Nang Ning!
          Trees go Ping!
          Nong Ning Nang!
          The mice go clang!
What a noisy place to belong,
Is the Ning Nang Ning Nang Nong!!

I can be that even smaller teams like Sunderland or Reading have their own fanbase around in Asia. I do fully understand though, that it would smash any preparations for the match itself - and the next match. The only real option would then be like switcing - Anfield to Nou Camp for one match ...
If you call 200 versus 35,000 even then I suppose so ... Pompey fans are the noisiest sods around

If Liverpool are gonna play abroad I think The Irish deserve a game in dublin.

imagine how sunderland would feel about playing their home game against liverpool in asia, where 90% of the fans would be liverpool supporters, clubs count on their home games for points and that might be taken away from them for a commercial purpose, it's a very bad idea imo...

Well, for people who live near Anfield and don't go to every match, then I would call them lazy, not those who live thousand of kilometers away and who'll pay huge sums commuting to the ground.

Also, where is everone's preference if we did have to play overseas? I'd like to see us play a home match in SE Asia, although the way things are going it might well be Dubai!!!

dublin once a year seems about right to me

We would sell out the MCG twice over if they came to Melbourne IMO.

                        thats 200,000 people

                          Terrible idea !!!!

Once a team starts to move away from home it loses a bit of its identity.
Then it is a short step to franchises and teams moving city every few years , just like the yanks.

NO NO NO NO, and NO

Doubt it would be Dublin - its relatively easy for fans to get to Liverpool from Dublin, plus it probably wouldn't be seen as making the most of the marketing potential of the EPL. Its more likely to be Asia/Australia/US.

No thanks. Liverpool only. You can hold the Charity Shield, the FA Cup Final, the League Cup Final , the UEFA & CL Finals any where you like. But you leave LFC's matches where they belong - at home. This is Liverpool FC...we play in Liverpool.

                                Maybe some League Cup games?

Some teams struggle to fill their gates for those middle of the road ties, and teams play their reserves, so good tidings all round.
