the damage was caused by a horrendous tackle, but i think that with Eduardo having his foot planted firmly in the ground and because he is stretching, his body weight will be on that leg, his leg had nowhere to go, as the studs were keeping his foot firmly inplace.

i wish him a speedy recovery! and we hope its not too serious

having just seen one o those pics, he is far too high with his studs, but you can't say it was worthy of banning him for life.
ben thatcher 'tackles' maybe, but it seemed more like an unfortunate outcome due to the reasons Jaymo gave, rather than a deliberate attempt to injure the lad

By looking at the pictures you can see that Taylor has gone an absoloute mile over the top of the ball.

Not saying he intended to injure as there are tackles all the time like that where there is no intention - Kuyts karate kick earlier in the seasn anyone?

But to answer AFII this has come at a time when Refs have been seriously clamping down on this sort of thing. Players have had some ridiculous red cards this season due to this. Maybe in hindsight it is clearer to see why.

apparently there's photos of Taylor seeming to smirk after the challenge. went on an arsenal forum and a lad mentioned it on there

What if he did? So what. I doubt he knew he had broke the kids ankle at the time.

If on the other hand he did, then I'd be pissed if I was a gooner.

People always gloat when they leave a fellow player on the deck. I remember Haaland did it to Roy Keane. Couple of years later Keane took exception to that and finished his career. And people moaned at Keane and wondered why he did it.

I remember reading about Rio decking lil luis and Garcia saying that Rio had smirked and said "Welcome to the premiership". This stuff goes on all the time.

i'll post this because it is the second before it all goes to ****. there where actually people on this site claiming it wasn't a red card if this isn't a red card then i don't know what is. and a ****ing lengthy ban...

His leg snapped. It was ****ing disgusting, no need to analyse it
i don't particularly want to see the break, but in light of wenger's challenge that taylor should never play football again i'd certainly like to see how bad the challenge was that caused it.

Looks an awfully high tackleand I have to agree with Wenger, tackles like that have no part in the game, the guy should be made to give his entire seasons wages to charity and lets see if he would do it again then eh.

                    ****ing hell, it looks horrendous.

I completely agree. His foot is nowhere near the ball, its way higher than it should be and his studs are showing. That picture just shows how late and how bad a challenge this really was.

He has to be punished. Eduardo may not play again. He may not even be able to walk again properly unless they can fix this. I know someone who had his leg broken like this and now his left leg is 1.5" shorter than the other one.

As for idiots like Thatcher - he's just a ****ing thug. He cant play and all he is good for is taking people out. After seeing his elbow on mendes last year and seeing mendes shake on the floor I couldnt sleep for days. This kind of behaviour on the football pitch is just not right and they have to stamp it out.

Its got to start somewhere. It might as well be with Taylor.

Foot is way too high there in those pics posted. I've kind of see-sawed in my opinion on this tackle, seeing it first on youtube I thought it was two footed, then seen the distance shots on Sky made it look simply very late and no more (ie definitely not two footed), now seeing that new pic Diego has posted, it is clear not only is he late, his foot is also way too high. I hope they throw the book at the ****house. No room for challenges like that in the game.

I always feel if you make dangerous tackles that occasioning such a terrible injury, you should be out of the game for as long as your victim is.

****ing disgrace, you don't tackle like that if you're going for the ball, he was out to injure the lad

taylor shouldn't be allowed to play again until eduardo does. no mark ****e player taking out a really good player like eduardo, i ****ing hate this ****

i just said the same and totally agree, he shouldn't be allowed back until eduardo is back

complete disgrace. the scary thing is this could happen every single game, players are looking out for this type of tackle now and usually jump out of the way but eduardo wasn't so lucky

Eduardo is the closest thing to Robbie Fowler I've seen - good luck lad.
