    YNWA.
I think he will and I also think he should. Otherwise you're talking about him taking almost a week off work on account of the loss of his mother. I could be wrong, but I dont think there's many places of work that would allow that to be honest.

Tactically speaking for next week, I expect Essien to replace Lampard anyway. With his loss, I would be even more surprised if he played so soon. Funerals take a week or so to arrange.
Muslims bury their dead within 48 hours dont they? Greeks tend to get it done in that similar kind of timeframe as well, although there's no religious requirement as far as I'm aware. Not sure why there's always such a delay in this country.

I think a lot depends on the circumstances.

If for example your mum is old and, without any disprespect, death is expected, then I wouldn't think too much time off would be needed. A few days tops.
However, if you are very close to your mum and she is very ill and dies suddenly at a relatively young age then it's more tragic and therefore you may need more time to mourn.

I lost my mum 2 years ago. She was only 54 and had only recently been diagnosed with incurable lung cancer. She died very quickly and unexpectedly, and it hit me hard. I lived round the corner from her and saw her every day. I was off work for 2 weeks.

we (Muslims) bury as soon as it can be arranged, same day is usual and that is in the UK too.
            We come not to play.

Ay, it effects people in different ways, sometimes people will throw themselves back into 'work' to help take their mind of it etc, some people might go into their shell for a few weeks

              Horrible thing to go through

                  Sad news indeed.

Cant believe people are discussing whether this is an advantage to us due to him playing or not. Does it really matter?

                  RIP Mrs Lampard.

Traditionally in Eastern European (non-muslim) countries it is the same. I always assumed that in rural areas particularly, the facilities for storing the deceased are not necesssary available locally.

Here it does take a long time here though.
                    Oh I don't know.

No it does not. Sad news.
Dreams come true. Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.

Well with all due respect, Lampard is a Chelsea player. He means nothing to me, his mum means nothing to me, and certainly no more than all the random people that die every day - I dont say YNWA or RIP to all the other hundreds of people who will die today, and as Lampard's mother means no more to me than them I wont be saying it about Frank's mother either.

To be honest I've no idea why have a thread about his mother in the LFC section unless it is to discuss how the death of his mother will impact on LFC.

I disagree, I think this thread and the respect shown by most fans should be commended.

Well i drew the line at YNWA as i feel that's inappropriate.

....and it should be in the general football thread.
