So how bad is it really for Man U if they don't sign a striker before midnight?

All this mayhem has been a more than welcome distraction from one hell of a boring day in work!

Bearing in mind the won the double last season with their current strikers I harldy think it would constitue a crisis.

To be fair though if you take the prancing pony's goals away from them last season they wouldn't have done nearly as well

I was thinking the same but for some reason, the media are making out that they NEED to sign another striker.

Did utd have Saha? didnt notice.

Wasnt there chatter that arl Carlos "Herman Munster" Tevez isnt particularly happy at united? Also like someone has said, take the show pony's goals and general play out of the equation and you have a slightly more than average united team. As good as Rooney is, he isnt and will never be imo, the prolific goal scorer that they need. Berba would have been (and still may be, but hopefully not) the ideal player for them and losing out to City will be a devastating blow not only for the team but for Fergiescum's ego going into what surely must be his final season as a United manager. Potentialy it could be a massive blow for them I think as far as the future of United is concerened.
Giggs, scholes, neville, van der sar will retire very soon. Ronaldo will be at Madrid next year if fergie hangs up his whiskey bottle and Ferdinand will be 31 going on 32.
This is all my opinion but I hope to god that it pans out like that.

                            Exactly

They got quite a few wins where he got the winner,a lot of points dropped if he wasn't around.

I actually think it is pretty important. Chelsea ran them close last year despite any number of problems. For me all the top four under performed over the season (Arsenal possibly being an exception as their fading towards the end seemed likely enough given their thin squad and youth) and United just got lucky with Ronaldo bailing them out a lot. They are an exceptional side with or without a new striker but I do think an extra striker would strengthen them considerably in what I feel will be another very tight title race.

                                Really strange this.

Spurs seem to be making it clear that they have not accepted any bid from Man Utd but have from Citeh. Yet Berbatov has been meeting Fergiescum without Spurs permission and now allegedly having a medical at Utd. All this while Spurs seem to say they have not agreed a deal.

Can only assume that Utd are pushing on with this because they feel they are close to an agreement. Can only hope that Levy holds out and tells them to f off
