This changes football forever. I don't see how this can continue, all other teams across the world are just going to crumble at the feet of the English teams.

We should also prepare for the worst

You still are not one of these corporate clubs. You are hanging in there.
The images of Shankly, Keegan & Toshack, The Kop in full voice on european cup nights...that sea of red pouring forward and the memories your club has given to millions like me. It's all still there. Don't wish it away too quick. Liverpool have something precious the other three don't have. A history they haven't sold down the river.

Be careful what you wish for...you might just get it.

Now THAT'S the game I know and love.

don't think he's been out bid more a case Madrid wouldn't sell to them, but still is good.

That's exacly it..it's the same game I love. A bit ironic that it took a tottenham supporter to be the first to realize that this isn't funny but sad. It's an omen of worse things to come I'm afraid.
Even though you could get a laugh out of chelsea getting snubbed/abramovich being outbid, and the fact that United may find it's match in their own city in a year or two, it's still sad to see football taking yet another step away from the game we love into americanized entertainment.

                    well well.. back to lurking

Robinho is vastly over rated anyway. We still have the two best players in the premiership in Torres and Gerrard. I wouldn't even sell them for 150 million combined. Feck off Man City and Chelski the league is ours this year

I said this ages ago before we were taken over by the two ****wits.

I want us to unearth exciting talent, nurture them and then unleash them. Mmm perhaps I should support Arsenal! Never of course.

Like the credit crunch spanked the city boys and like every financial bubble eventually pops - so will Premiership money.

I'd rather Liverpool sat out the money wars for the next few years and watch the implosion that WILL happen in a few years time.

The fans are the key. Refusal to spend money on increasing ticket prices and new satellite channel subscriptions. I've been going to Anfield since 1975 and this year I will only go to a few games. Next season, I might stop all together. It's not that I can't afford it - but because it's not worth the cost. The money ends up in two places, the owners (if they're lucky) and the players pockets.

So City made the scum pay more for Berbatov and then got Robinho from under the noses of the chavs. Nice work.
