That's exacly it..it's the same game I love. A bit ironic that it took a tottenham supporter to be the first to realize that this isn't funny but sad. It's an omen of worse things to come I'm afraid.
Even though you could get a laugh out of chelsea getting snubbed/abramovich being outbid, and the fact that United may find it's match in their own city in a year or two, it's still sad to see football taking yet another step away from the game we love into americanized entertainment.

I'm increasingly feeling like this. If Dubai took over us and we won the league, it'd probably feel very slightly hollow. The Premiership is a rich man's play-thing.

I'd rather Liverpool sat out the money wars for the next few years and watch the implosion that WILL happen in a few years time.

The fans are the key. Refusal to spend money on increasing ticket prices and new satellite channel subscriptions. I've been going to Anfield since 1975 and this year I will only go to a few games.
