Bang goes his chance of signing with a top club. Off to the continent IMO.

Not sure where he'll end up, if he'd not got injured and had carried on playing like he did at the start of the season he could have got a move to a big-ish club. Now that seems unlikely and it also seems unlikely that he'll stay at Wigan
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Lambast is such a great word; I so want to lambast someone.

                    Zaki unsure of future

Amr Zaki doubts whether he will stay at Wigan as he has been told that Zamalek are asking for too much money.

The striker joined the Latics on loan from Zamalek last summer with the option of a permanent move to follow at the end of the season.

However, Egyptianplayers.com is now reporting that Zamalek will only let Zaki go for £12million and the 26-year-old has been informed that Wigan are not prepared to pay such an amount.

Zaki insists he is keen to stay at the JJB Stadium and he believes Wigan are attempting to lower the asking price by leaving him out of the side.

"Wigan asked Zamalek to sign me permanently and they (Zamalek) are asking for too much according to the Wigan management," Zaki is quoted as saying by Egyptianplayers.com.

"They (Wigan's board) want to sign me for much less and this can be done by putting me on the bench, therefore giving me less playing time which will result in a reduction in my goals and so they can get me for cheap.

                    Not happy
"While I am not happy with this treatment, I still want to stay at Wigan. If I will play from the start, I will score goals as I did before.

"But each time I get a few minutes per match, I don't get enough time and this is the main reason beyond the lack of goals."

Zaki made an excellent start to his Latics career before the goals dried up at the turn of the year, but he remained a regular in the side until losing his starting place for the match against Sunderland last month.

The player was fiercely criticised by manager Steve Bruce this week after failing to return from international duty on time.

He is set to be fined heavily and stayed quiet when questioned about his late return.

"I have a hamstring injury and all the world knows it," he commented.
£12m seems alot given he's probably played 1/3 of a season in a major league and been injured the rest of the time. Maybe if he'd played a whole season the way he started someone would pay that, but I can't see it to be honest

AWOL Wigan star Amir Zaki goes on nightclub bender on return to England

Awol Wigan striker Amr Zaki is facing another hefty fine - after going on a late night bender on his return to England.

The Egyptian international striker was spotted coming out of Manchester's Cloud 23 bar at 2am yesterday morning - just 13 hours before the Latics faced Arsenal.

Zaki was fined two weeks' wages for failing to report back from international duty with Egypt last week.

Wigan are unlikely to pay the £6m deal to make his loan deal from Zamelek permanent at the end of the season after a series of disciplinary scrapes.

Zaki wasn't in the squad to face Arsenal yesterday. But a spokesman for Wigan said: "We are aware he was out in Manchester after finally returning to England.

"He wasn't going to be involved against Arsenal, but again he seems to be showing a blatant lack of respect.

"Our manager, Steve Bruce, will decide over the weekend whether this latest incident represents another breach of discipline."

                              Do you remember this ****er?

Came out of nowhere, was an absolute beast for about 6 months, then fell off the face of the planet again. Did he pump himself full of drugs for a few months or something? One of the more bizarre PL stories.

Had completely forgotten about him until last night when MNF included his goal for Wigan against us in their compilation of overhead volleys.

He scored twice in that game I think.
