Because it didn’t hit anything maybe? The only evidence that it did seems to be one angle from the end of the pitch, but that was from a moving camera, ie the camera perspective moved and maybe the trajectory of the ball didn’t.

I’d have some sympathy if it had been and England goal kick, or if there was an obvious advantage to England from any contact, but it was just a random thing, if it happened at all, which I doubt.

If we werent getting our beach ball deflection overturned, a cable will be completely ignored.

There are a couple of angles I have seen including some which map the trajectory of the ball and from that you can see the ball doesn't travel on a parabolic path which is what you would expect, I guess you could argue spin on the ball or wind or something, I am no expert but the change in trajectory is significant and I would be surprised if an effect that large wasn't due to something external like it hitting a wire.

The problem with this is the proof has to come from FIFA and I don't trust that FIFA are an open and honest organisation in the information that they will put out. There are their own agendas at play here. I'm not talking about bias for one team or other, but something they care more about - money and reputation. I wouldn't be surprised if this new technology wasn't set up or tested properly, and FIFA don't want to reveal such failures...
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I’ve heard a lot of ‘what’s VAR for then’, but I can’t imagine VAR have their cameras set up to point at the sky.

Unless there was a remote control within the ball it definitely hit something. The trajectory completely changes.

How bad was the wind because that ball came down near vertical relative to the angle it was kicked.

Absolutely horrible player. The team Jose is putting together is the last team I’d want to watch. I wonder if he can still handle the big personalities while making it all about himself.

Spain have completely dominated. Midfield is outstanding some work rate and press, Rabiot and Tchouameni starting for France is such a weak pairing. Big boys from France haven't showed up though, getting out worked and out played.

All their big attacking players haven’t turned up. Loosing the ball so easily and offering zero threat. I don’t think Spain have been particularly amazing but definitely the better team.

Imo Spain have been outstanding, so well organised, work rate and press relentless and passing and control in middle of the pitch has been world class. So impressive imo.
