Hideous performance from Argentina, snidey and zero interest in trying to even play football. Spain have been the team of the tournament, work hard and play fantastic football. Best team won thank ****. I thought the Argies were an embarrassment today... Although not nearly as embarrassing as the Yanks trying to imprint their nonsense on football.
Yep hope we never see another Final series in the USA.
That was one of the worse finals I have seen, Argentina didn't want to play football, and Messi did **** all not a great way for the him to leave the WC.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
I believe the offside should be where the feet are
When I was younger I thought that was how offside was. Later I realised I was wrong and I've questioned it ever since. What happens if two are side by side, but one guys arse is slightly bigger than the others and thats offside. Makes no sense. And having your shoulder classed as offside is stupid. How often does anyone see a goal scored with a shoulder? I actually cant even recall one.
There is some fairly amusing footage of Robbie Willams kicking about from last, where live on air whilst being interviewed some gear falls out of his nose onto the microphone. He then cleans it with his hand, then wipes his forehead leaving the fairly uncut gear sat proudly on display on his head.
I'm disgusted with myself for wanting to Argentina to beat England in the semis. What a ****in horrible pack of *******s. And Messi can **** off as well, the whiney little prick. So this is what a couple of centuries of ethnic cleansing and open, unapologetic racism gets you - a bunch of petulant, cry bully, cheating, emotionally incontinent scumbags as your national team. Still though, at least they're all "European".
If I was Argentinian I’d be embarrassed to be represented that way. To be honest I don’t think many of the Sth American sides covered themselves in glory.
Let's be honest, half the outrage is because they beat England, and the second they did, the "protected by the ref" conspiracy theories came out in force. No one gave a **** when they beat Egypt.
Against Spain, they started ****e and then they had a man sent off, and went from being bad to completely ****, and showed a side we all knew was bubbling under the surface. Imagine you're in a world cup final and you don't fight to the end knowing you're playing against the best team in the world!
Dave's comment: Midfielder Enzo Fernandez has claimed Argentina represented their nation "in the best possible way"
BBC's comment: Midfielder Enzo Fernandez has claimed Argentina represented their nation "in the best possible way" during the World Cup, despite ugly scenes during and after their final loss to Spain.
Enzo's comment: "For years, this group has represented the team in the best possible way. It teaches that competing isn't just about winning; it's about giving your all for the jersey and never giving up.
it has been a privilege to be part of a group that always stepped up, competed at the highest level, and defended these colours with pride, humility, and commitment.
Talk about twisting his words just to keep the anti-Argie pile-on going.
I don't know, they went into this tournament with lots of skepticism about the way they won the last one, the Dutch game was clipped and posted widely, FIFA gifting Messi a world cup etc had resurfaced.
