John Aldridge was one of our best ever. And in recent times I agree with Murphy. Gerrard's penalty taking has improved out of sight in recent years too, I never think he's going to miss any more.

With one glaring exception.
I always felt confident that Phil Neal was going to score, so it surprises me to find out that he missed 12 in all comps and scored 38. Molby missed 3 but scored 42.
I'd agree that Murphy was as good as anyone I've seen, though I remember ex-West Ham full back Ray Stewart scoring about a million penalties in his career, mainly by ****ting the ball as hard as he could and assuming that the keeper would choose to get out of the way. It generally worked.
