That's not really the point is it though Joe - everyone likes the league to be a fair reflection of the quality of a team and if some games are effectively given up on by some managers that is not the case. I think it is a perfectly reasonable choice from McCarthy but I still don't like it but I would defend it if we rested people to prioritise other competitions or games and so I'll do the same in this situation."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

He's from Leicester apparently. Now I know the midlands is a big place but still....bit dodgy that.Originally posted by pondus View PostSunderland-Villa
The ref is a Villa fan, or he is O'Neills brother, either way, shocking refereeing. Every decision goes Villas way. Even worse than Webb this ****er. Well, maybe not quite.

Everyone would like for it to be a fair reflection however the newly promoted teams amongst a clutch of others, are in a mini league, trying to avoid relegation. You'll find that these teams will play for the 'six pointers' a lot more than against the bigger sides.Originally posted by dww View PostThat's not really the point is it though Joe - everyone likes the league to be a fair reflection of the quality of a team and if some games are effectively given up on by some managers that is not the case. I just wish we had been good enough in recent seasons that teams did it against us.I see no problem with this, and there is nothing that the FA can do either...when clubs had problems with swine flu, and when Spurs had that food poisoning incident the other season, the clubs were told by the FA that they had a squad to pick from....every season teams register their first team squads, so they can pick any players they want from that squad and still be picking a "full strength" side.Originally posted by red g View PostSection E, rule 20 says: "In every league match each participating club shall field a full strength team."
