that's what he told meOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostThought similar before. I've seen him play the no.10 role, wide left, inside left, wide right, and the Alonso role. He seems well capable of being good at them all. I wonder how he sees himself. I'd guess he prefers to play behind a striker.

The way Spain used him at U19 Euros except when he played on the wide right seems to me to be the best fit.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostThought similar before. I liked the Silva comparison someone made in another thread. Long-term I see him as a central playmaker, but I could easily see him fighting for a place on our wing for the rest of the season as there is less competition.Originally posted by Liverpool View PostI imagine he'll be messed around and never settle or specialize properly, with Rodgers set up (and as well as most) I struggle to see what position he could make his own
He is an excellent dribbler, so can easily see him flourishing out wide.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I think that the Silva comparison makes most sense because he is the sort of playmaker that I imagine fits most naturally into an advanced role. It appears that the current trend is for that type of player to be most effective wide rather than centrally.Originally posted by RedReet View PostI liked the Silva comparison someone made in another thread. Probably most fitting comparison.Originally posted by RedReet View PostI liked the Silva comparison someone made in another thread. Long-term I see him as a central playmaker, but I could easily see him fighting for a place on our wing for the rest of the season as there is less competition.

Only big difference between the 2 is that Silva is much more mobile but in terms of vision and footballing skills they are very similar.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Is he though? Suso is quite quick and personally I remember thinking a few times he was very Messi like when dribbling with the ball. If he does continue to play further up the pitch, I think we'll see more of this in future. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I don't think he is and personally I think that is what is holding him back.Originally posted by RedReet View PostIs he though? He has no burst of pace and he is definitely not speedy.
In terms of his dribbling skills, vision and ball control he is tremendous potential but speed is not one of his attributes.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

He's no the quickest but as you have said earlier he is mobile so this helps. His ball control is fantasticOriginally posted by Mostar View PostI don't think he is and personally I think that is what is holding him back.

Watching him Sunday was interesting. He made a immediate positive contribution to the team
What I really like about him was has movement, he was always making the moves to make himself available (rather than just standing their) But the most impressive thing about his game on the day is the fact he is very comfortable on the ball. There were a few occasions where there were no good options for him, so he just waits with the ball (and almost invites) opposing players to come and take the ball from him, when they commited to this and he had dragged them out of position, he played the ball. This showed maturity above his years

Well despite knowing Mostar has put together indivdual compilations of Suso and despite the general consensus agreeing with him, I still disagree. I still think he is pretty quick and although speed might not be one of his stronger or more noticeable attributes, I still think he has it and have certainly never noticed any lack of mobility.
I shall pay particular attention next gameIf we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

i think suso may be quick, but he looks quicker maybe because of his ability to quickly stop the ball, and then change direction, leaving defenders and then passing them. we need him and suarez playing behind a front man, supplying the bullets and following the play into the box.
remember, for every attack we must have at least 3 in the box.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
