Got to admire Capello for this. As he said he picked 3 captains in order and has kept to his word. There's a pretty high chance Ferdinand wont play in most World Cup games so therefore Gerrard is more than likely to be captaining England during the World Cup. Can only be good for the image of our club, marketing etc presuming England do well of course.....

Oh how Tiger Woods must wish that John Terry was quarterback of a top NFL team or the leading pitcher of the New York Yankees.
That's because the papers are tackling the Terry scandal with the same carnivorous glee that media outlets on both sides of the pond inflicted (and are still inflicting) on Woods.
"England captain sex scandal: Day 8" screams a banner on the front of the Mirror and they also win the headline of the day as they go with "Terrivederci" to report the news that Fabio Capello has sacked the England captain.
The Sun back page leads with the news that Terry could lose £20m in sponsorship endorsements as a result of his indiscretions, but they also have a "pro-Terry" article from Sven Goran Eriksson's squeeze Nancy Dell'Olio who says that Terry's wife Toni should forgive the England star.
The Mirror is more biting as they claim that Terry paid £800,000 to lover Vanessa Perroncel as "hush-money" so she won't sell her story to the tabloids.
The Mirror also claims that Terry "had a sexual liaison with a pretty blonde in a kitchen just six months before he married". No real need for Paper Round to expand on that "Ronseal-esque" opening paragraph.
As for the Mail, well their back page just says "Good Riddance".
This story is going to run and run you feel.
