Definition of Forum: a public meeting or assembly for open discussion.Originally posted by dom9 View Post
Let's look at another example. Are you argumentative on internet forums because internet forums exist (without them, you wouldn't be debating this right now), or were you brought up that way, or do you have an innate urge to argue about stuff that you don't understand with people you don't know?
I give up.
The point of this definition is that a forum is where you have open discussions - some people agree whereas as others don't. I have constantly stated MY OPINION given my knowledge (which isn't great) on the subject matter of addiction to gambling. But yet you have responded "you talk ****e" therefore defeating the purpose of an OPEN DISCUSSION/FORUM. You don't like the fact that I'm stating an opinion that you don't agree with.
You say I'm argumentative (which I am) as highlighted in the bold text of your quote on subject matters that I don't understand. But you have said you don't have an understanding on this subject matter but yet persist on arguing with me and therefore contradicting and being hypocritical of your point above.

And you give up? Superb - it's not about winning or losing on forums. It's about stating your opinions and remaining civilised. My kebab comes with chilli sauce

back at you.
Do you have an opinion on every subject where you're knowledge 'isn't great' even though you have admitted you have hardly any knowledge on the subject matter of addiction to gambling but yet you have expressed your opinion many times? You're basically implying that you can say your opinion but I can't?

Do you ever post in the Liverpool FC chat section of this? If so, why? Because given your theory that you should only post on matters "where you're knowledge is great", nobody should theoretically speaking (according to you) post anything to do with who Rafa should play, what tactics should be used etc etc as what footballing knowledge do we have given the fact no member of this site works or has worked for LFC in some form of coaching capacity as a fulltime profession?
The answer is not much as we only watch games.
Knowledge is not quantifiable. Asking someone how much knowledge they have on a subject is like asking someone how long a piece of string is. Even if you only have a tiny bit of knowledge, it can be enough for you to form an opinion. My kebab comes with chilli sauce

But I do think you''re wrong.
.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

It's your opinion that you think I'm wrong. And even though you say I'm wrong, you're not attacking me and saying I should not post on this subject matter. At least you're being civilised.

So as there is no medicine that can cure AIDS, does that mean it doesn't class as an illness?Originally posted by saj View PostThey have already done in many tests. But yet there is no medicine that can help to cure gambling addiction. Hmmm, I wonder why?
Perhaps the medicine or cure that can supress the urge to gamble that the mind has is just yet to be found, as is a cure for Aids, or Cancer??
