De Sanctis, but they tried to get Julio Cesar reportedly but couldn't get it done.

Pepe will cost more than Julius Caesar.

I can see him going there though.
      Are we winning?

De Sanctis is 36 and will surely be retiring soon. What I'm confused about is that they've actually signed Brazilian keeper Rafael Cabral from Santos whom is fully internationally capped, yet they've still been linked with keepers, I'm not convinced that there's that much weight behind this.

EDIT: Just seen De Sanctis is odds on to join Roma, signing another keeper now makes perfect sense.

This move makes a lot of sense. Sad to see Reina go but he's not the keeper that he was between 2006-2010.

            No less than £10m though.

Julio Cesar is/was the player they wanted but they run into problems with QPR.

Will see what happens but with Mignolet being signed it's only matter of time before Pepe leaves for good.

ideal world would like to keep pepe for at least one more year - would give some good competition and also allow mignolet to settle in and learn from him

but realistically, having two top class goalkeepers is difficult to manage unless one is prepared to play second fiddle - and being a world cup year i'd imagine both wanting to play as many games as possible.

i wouldn't begrudge him moving to napoli - min £8m and i'd start being interested.

£8m, £10m...I cannot believe how much we undervalue Pepe. He is one of the best around still and we should not look to just give him away at those silly prices IMO. I hope he stays I really do, but if he goes I would want an absolute minimum of £15m for him and expect something nearer £20m.

Not a chance unfortunately Tee, we won't get anywhere close to that for him. His stock has fallen.

If we are offered 10-12 million for Pepe we will snatch their arm off.

Shame that it looks likely Pepe is going to be leaving but once we'd bought Mignolet it was always likely

£12M + would do nicely and we should hold out for.

I think Pepe would be in the World Cup squad regardless of how much he plays, he seems to be the biggest personality in the Spanish dressing room and keeps morale high.

Although obviously he won't be relying on that to get his place

EXCLUSIVE - Reina, the agent: "Napoli? And 'a possibility, there is interest on both sides ..."

                            19.07.2013 19:38 by Mirko Calemme

After Benitez, Callejon and Albiol, another man of the team from Manuel Garcia Quilon may soon reach Naples: Pepe Reina . The editors of Tuttonapoli.net contacted exclusively the Spanish prosecutor who confirmed the interest of Naples against his client who, it seems, would like the destination Naples.

In Italy we speak insistently of involvement of Naples for Pepe Reina, his client ...

At this time the Naples is only one possibility

The player would be interested in becoming the club's new goalkeeper Benitez?

Yes, there is interest on both sides. For the boy would be a welcome destination

What are the reasons why international players like Callejon, Albiol and eventuamente the same Reina choose to Naples?

Napoli is now a great team that continues to grow, play in the Champions League and a coach can count on the likes of Rafa Benitez

If we sell Reina, part of the fee will have to go towards purchasing another goalkeeper. We would be one injury away from having Brad Jones in goal and he is quite possibly one of the worst goalkeepers I've ever seen at this level.

                                Loaned to Napoli. Bizarre.
