It was a backwards looking thing for Reina to say, and didn't help anyone. I guess it was a throwaway line. But hes gone now. If he prefers playing for Rafa rather than Liverpool that's his choice.

Loved him when he was here though, and I think we will look back in a few years and remember him fondly.
Best LFC keeper in my lifetime being a Red.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

The guy's still a legend in my eyes and he stayed with us for much longer than most when we went to ****. Most of them jumped ship pretty quickly, but he stayed. He showed loyalty and he was just a great personality to have around.

Still, don't want him back. Swansea's goal last night really summed up the back end of Pepe's career with us. Not an out and out blunder, but a piss easy shot that's somehow gone past him. This is where Mignolet is better, so much better. He saves that. Pepe contrives to let it in...somehow. To be fair to him he made a few cracking saves later on but there's always one soft shot on target that he allows past him.
Pepe was brilliant for us for a handfull of seasons, but not quite up to the standard in the last 2.

I think it says a lot that he is second choice in Napoli now under Rafa. He is just not where he used to be. Hopefully he will find a new club this summer and regain his level, as he has been a fantastic characther here and wish him well.

It's mad really, how can you suddenly lose the ability to stop shots?

When he first joined us he was a very good shot stopper as well as all his other qualities. Now he's useless. It's mad.

Is he?! I thought the other keeper was number two and played the Cup games. Reina only played last night cos the other keeper got injured last week.

Only played 15 of a possible 25 league games so far.

                Better than Grobbelar??

Nah not having that, late 80's Brucie was still better than Reina.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Yep, Rafael Cabral has taken his place lately.

He started as first choice but lost his place as first choice before Christmas. Rafael is first choice now and only been out with a suspesion IIRC.

I saw Brucie from 84 onwards and yep I'd just have Reina ahead.

Jesus. You know Pepe's got problems when Rafa's dropping him.

TBF, it was terrible defending and the player was through 1 on 1, so no surprise he scored, but admittedly Pepe should have did better. He was very good second half though, just like he was in the last match against them.

Although Rafael did seem to overtake him, Pepe was injured for a bit too. Now Rafael is injured, it will be interesting to see if Pepe can hold on to the jersey.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

True, might reclaim it. I do however also think there is some transfer politics in the choice, considering Napoli purchased Rafael and probably want him as first choice in the long run, rather than on loan Reina.

Aye, think you're probably right. It seems Rafael has done at least as well as Pepe when he's played, so it makes sense to go with the younger, cheaper keeper.

When both are fit though, I do still think Pepe will get the nod when things start getting serious, cup final and latter stages of UEFA cup, seeing as he has big game experience.

reina might get his move to spain but cant see barca being interested anymore
Oh I say his vision there was lovely
