So do I, but I feel worse for the rest of the team who performed so well but lost 2 points.

I'm not convinced we'd get £15m for him right now. If someone did offer that I think it would be more than tempting actually.
Wow. That's pretty worrying. I doubt he made that many errors leading to goals in his previous 5 seasons combined.
Not really, he's in him prime as a keeper right now but has been in pretty poor form for a good year or two. I'd love you to be right Nigel but at what point do we draw the line? At what point do we say sentimentality and past performance are less relevant than him actually costing us points in the here & now?

He's been on the decline since Hodgson's first game in charge at Arsenal. Sadly it seems to be more than just a blip, we're talking three years now.

£10m tops IMO.

I thought that Stoke/Utd had an agreement that Begovic goes there for £9m at the end of the season.Originally posted by -V- View PostId be very careful before deciding to write off Pepe Reina.
I have always been a massive fan of his and although he's not at his top level it would also be very difficult to replace him. He is a massive figure at the club and an important part of the dressing room. I do believe he can get back to his very best and I still have faith that he will.
A successful premier league keeper is very hard to come by and replacing him would not be easy. Just look at how many keepers Fergie goes through or how crap Wenger is at signing goalies. Us and Chelsea got lucky when we signed our pair.
I would not risk signing a keeper from the continent if we did choose to replace him, far too much of a risk. Premier league is much more physical and brutal for keepers than other leagues. I would only replace Pepe if we could sign a proven top class keeper from within England. For me that narrows it down to two choices-
Michel Vorm and Asmir Begovic. Both are gettable but would be costly. I would prefer to get behind Pepe and hope he comes back strong for the rest of the season
Oh, to be able to pick the players we want without the risk of losing out

Aguero "meant it" in the sense that it was clearly a shot and not a cross... but that's a 1-in-100 shot that goes in, he might not do that again in the rest of his career. It was fortunate to go in but I suppose hugely aided by wonderful technique.

Nah, that's bull****.Originally posted by Norbs View PostI thought that Stoke/Utd had an agreement that Begovic goes there for £9m at the end of the season.
Pulis wants to keep Begovic (naturally) and loan Butland out next season.

Replacing a top class keeper is so hit and miss (excuse the pun). Look at Man Utd replacing Schmeichel or Arsenal replacing Seaman.
Reina's been way off his best for years now so I do think we need to at least be looking into a replacement, but it's just such a tough one to get right. I think we need to do it as Reina has gone stale here IMO, but I'm very apprehensive about it all the same
I think we need someone in their early to mid 20s personally. It's too big a task for someone as young as Butland, he's still only 19!
