It confirms everything. OK, we didn't know the insignificant detail about his wife talking him out of it but everything else was clear.

The difference between his public statements and those of Carragher and Gerrard was striking at the time.

Can't help but wonder if the timing of the book release could have been different.

He said some stuff about Stevie and Carra * that will be probably turned, twisted and taken out of context by media and we have a very important game in one week time..

The media will no doubt try and stir it but I'd be highly surprised if Pepe hasnt discussed his view with Stevie and Carra long out.Be a bit ****house to have said it in the book and not to them personally.

I can remember thinking last season just after the take over that Arsenal weren't really in a better position than us. I never realised just how badly off they'd be this season though. The correct decision Mrs Reina.

For all you know they were told to keep quiet by Purslow and co. Often during the sale of an asset no one wants bad press to go on and on.

Imagine Stevie and Carra coming out and saying nasty stuff. Things could have turned much more uglier. Potential buyers would be put off by such stuff.

If they did it, they did it for a good reason and SG was never the one who would speak out publicly or issue a rallying cry. He's a different kind of human being.

Carra, I would expect a bit to come out and say stuff but there was a reason why maybe even he kept quiet.

I'd like to see a Gerrard update to his autobiog in the next couple of years. This massive situation, a huge part of his career, is reason enough for these money grabbing footballers to wait until the end of their careers before releasing their accounts of what happened in their playing days.

Nobody really knows what was going on during that time except the staff and players. To call Carra and Gerrard out on not saying anything is ridiculous when you the only information you have is small comments in the press

I agree. And it wouldn't have been unreasonable if carra or stevie thought that all out civil war might be even more damaging for the club. Who are we to judge from where we stand.
