I wouldn't be overly bothered if Reina left, he is a shadow of the keeper he once was. Hell of alot of excellent goalkeepers out there.
Against Fulham we absolutely dominated the game and Reina could have went a made a cup of tea for most of the game. Then Fulham have one shot and Reina fumbles it lucky enough no Fulham player followed up.
He has been outstanding for us but over the past 2 seasons his form has dipped considerably. He is the cost of several goals this season. IMO he has got to lax and needs competition OR needs a change of club. Because no doubts there is a world class GK still in there. Love to see him turn it around and get back to his best but maybe it's wishful thinking.

Look at it another way: if Reina was moved on, chances are if rumours are to be believed Butland will be coming in. Butland isn't even as good as Reina's "shadow" and never will be. He is in fact awful.Originally posted by danperkins View PostI wouldn't be overly bothered if Reina left, he is a shadow of the keeper he once was. Hell of alot of excellent goalkeepers out there.

There's a pretty valid argument that Reina has slid off badly in form terms in the last couple of seasons. Long enough that it is reasonable to begin to question if this is just a dip or a decline. Maybe he's stagnated, maybe his head isn't right, maybe we need a new coach or maybe he'll get back to his very best in no time. But I worry whenever the ball is hit at him now and I struggle to remember his last performance when anyone could honestly say he kept us in a game. I watch other teams come to Anfield and see their keeper have a stormer, get them a point (or 3) they have no right to get. When is the last time Reina did that for us?Originally posted by Tee View PostOh yes, just like also fumbled that Rodallega free kick. **** keeper that Reina. Get rid.

Not saying we should obviously get rid, but I'm not sure the opinion that not everything is right for us in goal at the moment is entirely
either.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

True, well i suppose you only want someone to leave if you can replace them with a better player.Originally posted by saj View PostLook at it another way: if Reina was moved on, chances are if rumours are to be believed Butland will be coming in. I can't stand Downing but i don't see the point in us letting him go if we aren't going to replace him with someone better. Same applies across the board.

don't think anyone wants Reina gone, more so hoping he can regain his best form, as he looks a wee bit of a liability at times for us.

I know next to nothing about Butland. With Reina, the obvious fear is we sell him and he returns to what we all know he can be. It's a tricky one. Has he regressed for good or is it a (long) bad spell? He had 5 or so great years with us, and has now had 2 **** ones. I think he's proved how good he is and we should stick by him. Butland could be anything. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Reina is far from being a 'liability' though, that's hyperbolic ****.
He's made mistakes and hasn't played to his level but he's still better than most keepers in this league. It's also about what he brings to the team. Tremendous personality.
Then, I think he's probably the best 'sweeper' in the league and fits perfectly our passing game. He's incredible at that and for me personally has always been his forte above anything else. Are we winning?
