Stat man, I don't care. I know when I watch he hardly stops anything. Jones made more saves and he's rubbish. He's off. Nice bloke, just shame about his shot stopping, you know the bit he's paid to do.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostOnly one keeper had more clean sheets last season.Always borrow money from a pessimist. If he had the second most clean sheets does that not tell you he does save things though? He had a rough patch until Jan. but since then he has been excellent. Nearly back to the PEPE of a couple of years ago.
Still one of the best keepers in the league too, even at half speed.*Except Michael, who died.

Good defence in front of him? All the shots he faced were ****? Or he was awesome. Stats rarely tell all the story. He did shows glimpses of the old reina I agree, just far too many times the opponents have a shot at goal and score from it. He isn't imposing in goal, he goes down with this one glove on the floor routine and strikers tend to score easily in one on ones. There are many many better instinstive shot stoppers out there. There are even keepers that save pens. He is good overall but he's become stale. IMO.Originally posted by Alex View PostIf he had the second most clean sheets does that not tell you he does save things though? He had a rough patch until Jan. but since then he has been excellent. I get what you mean about Stats not telling the whole story. But I genuinely think he has improved for us second half of the season. Stale is a good way of putting it I guess. He was in a funk, but hopefully now it's been broken.
Someone said here the other week, he gets better the better the defenders in front of him. Which sounds like doing him down. But I think he thrives on a solid back line. Which I think is what we saw more of when Carra came back into the side.*Except Michael, who died.

I know I would if a player started looking for transfers...
I think a few times he's toyed with an idea of a move. His wages are sky high
(£140k p/w allegedly) and if there is a club wanting to buy him, he'll be sold. I like Reina but I honestly think there are better options out there which would save the club money
