Mignolet could do with a bit of competition. Reina was a very good goalkeeper, and his distribution would suit our style of play.

IMO Reina has a big problem with our style of play at the back.Originally posted by Charly View PostMignolet could do with a bit of competition. Reina was a very good goalkeeper, and his distribution would suit our style of play.
Reina is brilliant at pinging 70 yard long balls but like Mignolet he struggles with short sharp passing at the back when under pressure.

You think? I disagree. I think Reina in prime form is the perfect keeper for the system.Originally posted by danperkins View PostIMO Reina has a big problem with our style of play at the back.

Go back to the season we finished 2nd under Rafa and his form then, under those circumstances he would be perfect for the system unfortunately he just doesn't make anywhere near enough saves these days for it to be an option.

How many years has Reina got on his contract, is it 2 years?
I know he is on a very high contract but if you factor in lets say £5M fee plus wages for Vorm is it not worth keeping Reina as back up and shipping Jones out?
Whether Reina would be good for team morale and harmony following his falling out with Rodgers is a different matterKurtangled in the McFadden thread 16/01/08

Not sure- Although i think Mig is a better shot stopper- Reina is more commanding and a better organiser, exactly what we missedOriginally posted by Chilts33 View PostWould we have finished 2nd with Reina? Hard to say.Originally posted by Chilts33 View PostWould we have finished 2nd with Reina? I think we'd still be top 4 but not as high up.
Don't think Reina would have saved that penalty against Stoke in the first game of last season.
That save and win gave the team a hell of a boost. Who know's what would have happened had we drawn that game.

Whatever happened to his penalty saving capabilities. He went from unbeatable to rooted to the spot watching the ball sail past him.Originally posted by spud_gun View PostHard to say.
