The Non League / Lower League Thread!

I know there are a few of you out there who go to watch this.

So own up. Who do you go and watch, whats your experiences etc etc?

Today, my AFC Liverpool game was postponed away to Norton United so I went to Windy Corner to watch Skem Utd against Warrington Town.

    Skem won 2-1.

    Highlights

Good steak pies and the tea and bovril were not bad either.

One of the players, his dad was in front of me, usual mouthy pushy parent. Second half, he goes for a piss. While he is pissing, his lad scores. He came back out and was fuming he missed it.
One lad who used to play for AFC, missed a penalty

    Lowlights

It was a scrappy **** game.
    It was ****ing freezing.
It was £7.50! As far as Im aware the minimum set price by the League is £7 so they bumped the price up! Cheeky cunts.

Next non league game for me, Tuesday night, Bootle v St Helens Town.
Bill Oddie, Bill Oddie, put your hands all over my body.

If i go I go to Southport

experiences. extreme anger when someone steels my parking place on the corner of forrest road or something like that i think

then i love the being stared at when i go to the paper shop to get my drink and nibbles for the game.

during the game i tend to enjoy it but know its crap. sometimes there is a bloke who sits sort of infront of me. he arrives late reads his paper shouts abuse at our players then leaves early. also there is a bloke with a high pitch voice nearer the halfway line who has a high pitchish voice

oh and i always try to spot the drum as well.

the food is crap but at the end always go home happy if we win

    its a funny old life

Farnborough Town FC. I hate them but it's a day out.

Went with a group of mates last time, and one of the birds with us is scabby as ****, so as we were walking to our spot behind the goal the crowd started chanting "What's that coming over the hill..."

"We're running round Woking with our willies hanging out singing 'Ive got a bigger one that you', singing, 'Ive got a bigger, Ive got a bigger, Ive got a bigger one than youuuuuuu..."

      Lags!!!

Stevenage Boro. It's been somewhere to go on a sunny day, but these days it's getting all serious (although they're having a wobble at the minute). They occasionally get 3 or 4,000 in, so there's an atmosphere. not bad for an afternoon out. And for some reason they really hate Woking.

I have been to Oxford United a few times recently in their magnificent 3 sided stadium.

Oxford - Swindon used to kick off but now that Oxford are in the Blue Sq Conference it doesn't happen much anymore, they still really hate each other though.

"We had joy we had fun, we had Swindon on the run, but the fun didn't last cause the ******s ran too fast."

"Oi caan't read and oi caan't wroite, but that dohn't really maa'er, Cause oi come from Oxfordshoire, an' oi caan droive a traa'er"

That's all I have to say really.

I watched Bournemouth beat Grimsby 3-1 last October. Saw some excellent football, especially from Bournemouth's winger Liam Feeney, while they also have a great Iraqi goalie by the name of Jalil.

oooh i must try that too. I tend to go for lucozade myself.

how annoying is it though to be watched like that. I should watch them for robbing me at the prices they charge for things!!!!!!

haha, never a truer word spoken.

I have to agree, its very annoying.. i also hate how quietly they speak, they mumble the total so you have to ask again, or you just end up throwing money at them haha

Match postponed so hot wheeled up to Ashton Town v Eccelshall.

Christ it was cold. Attendance was about 40! Not sure how much it was to get in cos my NWC pass gets me in for £2. Bovril was the order of the night.

Some big lads played tho. Some crunching tackles flying about and the standard of refereeing is woeful, absolutley woeful, so it makes for a fun game!

Aston won 1-0 with a very scrappy goal.

AFC Liverpool at home tomorrow night against Daisy Hill so that'll be fun!

Went to Irlam last night for a very cold and snowy 3-3 draw.

Didnt sample the pie but sampled the hotdog and oxo. Impressive.

Not so impressive is that me da got in for the first time as a pensioner. He isnt 60 for few months. Suddenly made me feel really old. Dont imagine your dad ever being a pensioner
