This will only broaden the gap between the top 3 and the chasing pack. Having this play off system will offer less incentive to win the ****ing league. Although with less pressure to get into the champions league until the end of the season, i would expect english clubs to advance further into the later stages.

Except... i was more interested in why a trophy that does'nt resemble a cup in the slightest gets called a cup, like for instance 'The World Cup'.

It was indeed, but it's not now, with all the changes in competition names over the years, i just wondered why we still called this wonderful looking trophy a cup, suppose it's just sticking with tradition.

People are such ****ing mongs these days. Success by merrit is a bit dull and means that the average pleb off the street/midtable club can't instantly rise to the top. We need a more random system to give everyone a chance. Why don't we just have a ****ing public phone vote for the CL nominations and get a few thick slags to give their opinion beforehand? It's the 'modern way'.

this idea of a play off for the cl spot is ****ing ridicuous. you dont play 38 games a season busting a nut just to let some average small team like a brum or everton who have finished 20+ points behind you take your rightful place in the biggest club comp in the world. IMO it belittles the history of the comp. it is exaclty like the playoffs to the prem etc.... a disgracefull if somewhat exciting end to a season.

i am of the opinion thought that the champions league should be for champions only anyway with 2-3 in all major leagues playing in a seperate european cup.

Utd & Chelsea could have said the same thing about us a few times over the years after we finished way off the top.

You're all going on about 4th like its the holy ****ing grail.

Uefa could as easily give the top nations 5,6,7,8 or even 9 places in the CL if they wanted. Then people would be talking about the top 8 etc.
