Oh but they would, because like me, without all the doom and gloom surrounding the club/side, they would believe that in this seasons Arsenal side they would thrive, possibly even be the difference between title or no title...

I don't really blame Gerrard, he's been told so many times..like us...'next season', we'll buy quality, we'll invest, even to the point of the club changing hands and having a new vision...a new promise....all to come to this, transfer budgets slashed, idiotic owners...ahhhhhh, but that's another story.

To be honest I have to say I think he might be shot. Reminds me of the last days of Vieira at Arsenal. The PL is too physical and he needs to be rested/rotated if he is to continue but we don't have the strength in depth and I'm not convinced he would thrive in the Arsenal team either if the physical parts of his game are genuinely at the level he has shown this season. If it is purely a psychological thing then obviously that is different.

I'm sure they would. The difference is, they were never in a position to sign them. We made a last ditch attempt to sign Arshavin, but as per usual, we'd left it too late and it didnt happen.

Was going to say we tried to sign him, what more could we do, he was going to choose Arsenal imo...they were after him for ages, and he seems that type of player, to say ok you wanted me for a long time.

End of the day, Arshavin's one of a small group of class players, who was available for something like £10m, which we were bizarrely able to afford at the time.

We cant be missing out on opportunities like that.
