More like Bayern give them a head start in both games and they still ****ed it up

Well folks..it looks as though the task of keeping the Premierships end up in europe falls to us....again, oh and Fulham obviously, don't want to forget them so yes we are the only big name club from the league to still be in european competition..and if we end up winning it...and Chelsea end up winning the prem...well..it could be said we'll have had a better season than utd.

              I'm so glad they're out!

Now I can enjoy the rest of the competition, without the worry of them spawning it
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

After more than 20 years as manager of Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson knows more than most about the game of football. Here he tells how he motivates young black players to overcome racism...

Everyone comes up against barriers in life. The first thing you think is, "I don't deserve this." But you have to be determined to overcome it. You've got to have an almost blinkered approach to the problem and think, "This is not going to stop me."

There is less prejudice today than 20 years ago, and 20 years ago there was less than 30 years ago. Progress eventually eliminates a lot of these issues.

But when a person cannot get a job or a place in a sports team due to their colour, that is real racism to me.

It's great to take a stand against racism. At first, when Eric Cantona reacted to abuse at Crystal Palace in 1995, I thought he would pay for his actions by having to leaving the club. But you cannot condemn a man just because he lost his temper, no matter how bad it looks.

You have to remember what it was like in the past. Viv Anderson was the first black player to be capped by England. That was a big step. And I recall when John Barnes played at Goodison Park and sections of the crowd threw bananas at him. I never understood that.

Football is one of the best vehicles to tackle the world's ills because it is the most popular sport in the world and the most keenly watched.

It creates a fervour among fans and people's identities are interwoven into their club, from their grandfather to their father. The focus of their lives can be found in the football ground.

To kids footballers are heroes. And if their heroes are saying "racism, I'm not into that - I respect everyone", it has a positive impact.

In the end it's down to education and how people are brought up. I grew up in a family where there was no prejudice. Education from family and school are the most important things.

If parents are saying to their kids, "Don't play with that kid down the road because he is German," what message does that give? We do not live in a bad world but we can make it better through education. That transcends everything.

                      from Guardian

Sir Alex Ferguson slammed the behaviour of the Bayern Munich players for their part in Rafael da Silva's red card during Manchester United's Champions League exit at the hands of the German side.

Several Bayern players appeared to gather around referee Nicola Rizzoli after Rafael appeared to pull back Franck Ribéry, and the Manchester United manager described their behaviour as being that of "typical Germans".

                        Great night, ****ing great!!

Turned off the telly at 3-0, only to get a text from a mate an hour later telling me what a great night for football. Thought he was being sarcastic, but checked the score anyway. Wife almost killed me for waking up the children as I shouted "hell yeah, take that you cunts" (in Norwegian obviously )

                        Love it, just love it.

I'm suprised the moderators let that through.

Enjoyed the game tonight, it was quite pleasant to see Manchester United fans celebrating early on in the game and looking forlorn and even depressed towards the end. The best team won over the two legs, United are nothing without Rooney.
