Is it really necessary though? Villareal haven't really done much of late and I haven't noticed him standout much either. They have so much talent in midfield now, Alonso Fabregas, Xavi and Iniesta are all better than him. On top of that Busquets is now first choice at Barca and winning titles with them. Quite rightly left out I think

I think you account for all possible eventualities and during the course of a world cup, you'll need leaders out there at some point.
The likes of Busquets and Martinez wont fulfil that role for them. There's a case for both sides of the debate, but as i say, i personally would try to cover all possibilities wherever i could.

But they are hard to compare with Senna, as he is the only one on that list that is a natural anchor / DM that can throw in tackles and work hard for 90 min. I know the rest also work backwards, but it must mean that they are planning to play a bit different to what they do normally.Originally posted by -V- View PostBut they don't need him, he's getting older and hasn't done anything significant of late.
Alonso, Busquets, Fabregas, Xavi, Iniesta, Navas etc etc etc etc. Why would they need Senna? Although I can understand that people don't rate Busquets just yet

Senna has played 8 games for Villarreal this season according to the BBC. I'm pretty sure that is the reason he has been left out and I would guess that Spain have been used to playing without him in that time too."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Sanna has been going through the motions.
.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.
