Any manager who plays Gerrard on the left should just **** off. Look at the central positions for the top sides, and look at Barry and Lampard. No chance. It would be worth playing robert green wide left to accommodate Gerrard in the middle.

This is pretty normal for us in the world cup but. Start off depressing, get a good run on, build up hope, then crushing disappointment.

The quality of commentary from both TV channels is shocking. Before Capello came along, the camp was too open, now it's too strict. Before Capello it's all "we should play 4-4-2", now it's "no-one plays 4-4-2".

How Heskey warrants a place in the squad defeats me, he offers nothing. Nothing. We are effectively a man down, when he plays.

Lampard was awful, Rooney anonymous, James nearly made a Green like mistake early on. Johnson and Cole can't pass and were constantly caught out of position. At least Gerrard showed some urgency, late on.

No movement, inability to pass to each other and no vision. That's not tactics, it's playing ****.

None of these players are used to playing in a 4-4-2. None of them. Play that formation and you'd get goals from Lampard and Rooney. Plus the wide men would have a modicum of intelligence.

That was unbelievable. I know they're not Brazil 1970 but they are better than that. How they can play so poorly is mind-boggling. Almost every player was so, so poor. Rooney - abject, he couldn't even control basic balls! Johnson woeful. Lampard utterly useless, the game just passes him by time and time again. Terry garbage. Lennon ****e. Barry was pathetic. Heskey ....**** me that 'dribble' down the right was car crash stuff. I think I went bright red on his behalf. James did well, Ashley Cole was okay and Carra did alright too. Stevie at least tried to get things going and while well below his best wasn't as poor as the main culprits. But **** me......I can't get over how bad we were.

Personally I'm not a fan of the whole boo boy mentality. It's utterly classless and the fans booing need to take a long hard look at themselves, piss off home and burn their match tickets. They have no right to call themselves supporters.

Their performance is just as shameful as anything on the pitch.
