England fans are absolutely the worse bunch of fans I have ever come across, so quick to jump on the backs of there own, and lash out at just about anything vaguely different to them when results dont go there way ..

Sorry mate have to disagree with you on this. England fans are among the most loyal fans there are. They didn't boo during the game and only after and to be fair those fans have paid thousands of pounds, taken time off work and saved for years to go to this world cup and didn't go to see england one of the so called favourites for the world cup play with no passion or trot round the pitch for 90 minutes thinking its job done.

LFC fans spent thousands going to Istanbul and didn't boo at half-time, and we were 3-0 down FFS! 3-0 down! Not 0-0. Three nil down.

It's the chance you take when spending a fortune following your team, whoever it might be. You're there to support, by the very definition of being a supporter. Save it for the pub after. Hmmm don't forget that England fans have booed Peter Crouch when he's come on as a substitute before because he basically looks a bit funny. And they've booed Lampard and Ashley Cole during games too.


I'm split on what Rooney said. Part of me has never thought much of booing your own team, but that performance was one of the most abject I've ever seen England produce and can completely understand the frustrations of the fans who've paid a lot of money to go over there.

The Istanbul analogy is a bit **** to be honest. Difference between half time and full time for a start. And Liverpool had a go in the first half, they just got undone.

Rooney's point is pretty fair though. If ever there was a performance to boo at, that was it, but the last thing the team need is the fans turning on them before a crunch must win game. I am sure they're perfectly aware of the pressure.

It is a wonderfully romantic notion that no one should boo and I agree with your sentiment, but lets get real and understand that last nights piss poor performance would have left so many fans gutted, especially having spent a small fortune to follow the team and after waiting 4 years for this occasion.

If the team at least gave 100% there would be respect, but they just did not turn up. They gave the fans absolutely nothing to cheer about or be proud of. Gutless and spineless.
