You don't have to cheer. I wouldn't have been cheering.

But for thousands of them to boo - and yeah it seemed like the vast majority, it was a poisonous atmosphere as usual where they're concerned - while there's still all to play for is a joke. If they'd been knocked out and it was all over then I could understand it, but they have a crunch game to play now knowing the neanderthals that are supposed to be supporting them have turned on them.

The first half in Istanbul left a lot of people gutted having spent a small fortune and many waited 20 years for a European final. It doesn't wash.

I also thought they gave 100% last night. There's a big difference between being plain **** and not trying. They were just total ****, it wasn't for the want of trying.

The England cricket team used to be like this - playing ****e but resenting anyone who had the temerity to point it out. Only when they started concentrating on doing better did they actually get better. Rooney and Co are so pampered they just don't 'get' being booed. The Premiership hype tells them it's a treat for ordinary people to pay vast sums to watch them play - no, not even watch them play, just see them in the flesh - so they can't compute customer dissatisfaction. Even if they start winning, they'll probably sneer at the fans, thinking 'You booed me last week' without even understanding...that's showbiz, and, for better or worse, that's the business you're now in

I'm sure Capello will continue to pamper them , tell them how great they are, as well as the press who of course will continue blowing smoke up their collective arse as always. If it weren't for those noble, heroic Ingerlund fans then Rooney and the others would've had no idea they'd played so poorly!

I'm confused about this one.I can understand it from both sides-the fans have every right to boo.It was a poor display, they have paid a fortune to be there to support their team and see better football than was played.
Rooney was also right with what he said, some say he was well out of order.
                    CONFUSED.

Utter claptrap, Welsh fans have booed both their footy and rugby teams before, thats if their football side actually manages to fill half a stadium and the Scots have done it numerous times.

The french fans booed their side the other night too. Its not just an English fan thing like you're trying to make out for whatever reason.

And in regards to your other "cunt gene" comment, I think its similar to the "bitter gene" found in the Celts too as everytime the world cup or euro's come around the "bitter gene" seems to make itself known in a lot of my welsh mates.

Well I know Irish fans dont ... I still remember that headline from one International game against Spain .. we had been unbeaten for quite some time and I think Spain spanked us 3- 1 .. the Headline read Ireland would have won if Spain did not score them goals ...

England internationals have become a very ugly affair .. players should be proud to play for there country .. but **** me .. playing for England must be a chore

                          Fans support.

                          Consumers boo or cheer.
                          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
