Perhaps its this new generation of Armchair Blogging FM playing Cunts who are happy to play 50 quid to watch a game but dont know who play in the reserves ... Me Me Me Me .. Katie Price is the Hardback Best Seller Generation ... ****ing douchebags ... or to please Reece .. Windbags the lot of them ..Originally posted by McDermotX View PostHave to disagree to an extent Nicey, although thankfully its nowhere near as prevalent as with En-ger-land fans
Been at plenty of games at Lansdowne down the years where there has been reactions from portions of the crowd........especially in later years, when we've got to ahead of ourselves in our expectations.
That's not even counting the Cyprus incident a few year back......that was worse than anything that was heard last night....for obvious reasons.
Not the kind of friends who would want, not the kind of guys backing you up and not the type of men you would want to see your daughter with .. no character what so everAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

A little cheap yes, back when banana's were being thrown on the pitch racism existed on most terraces around the world. I think the FA and England as a whole has done more than most when it comes to stamping out racism in football. Italy still has terrible problems and just look at the Spanish F1 with Hamilton.Originally posted by Shaggy View Post
It was a cheap shot admittedly but still...it's on their glittering CV no matter when it happened. More recently they've booed Crouch cos he's tall, booed Lampard cos, er, he wasn't at his best, booed Ashley Cole cos...they just don't like him? Quality support.
There is always a lot of bitterness towards England on here whenever we play, and often by a lot of posters I think are intelligent people. This thread is evidence of that.Play Ball!!!!!!!

I still shudder.............the usual fantastic group of away travellers gave their usual massive level of support, but as the game wore on, at the final whistle, and even on the teams warm-down, the level of anger in the crowd was 10x worse than anything Rooney had to listen to last night.
Thankfully an isolated incident, but you do get to hear things in the crowd.....not so much in Croker, but that has been more a day out for a lot of "fans" rather than you usual football goers."I will make the boys feel your support"

The problem is that people are referring to England fans as a whole, there were probably more england fans there last night not booing than those that were. As LFC fans we have enough history and experience to know that you cannot and should not tar all fans with the same brush.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostFrom my perspective it's not 'bitterness towards England' - I'm defending England. I'm sticking up for Rooney (Rooney FFS, I ****ing hate that cunt!), for the team. It's the fans I have a problem with.Play Ball!!!!!!!

You can split hairs all day over the quality of opposition and whether it was half-time or full-time, but it's the same thing. Your own fans booing the team in times of adversity. End of story!Originally posted by Chrono View PostSorry Shaggy but the Istanbul comparison just doesn't work on any level.
Like I said earlier:
As Neil said they are not consumers, they're supporters. In Istanbul at half-time there was still time to play. As things stand for England, there is time to play. Yet LFC fans sang, got behind the team and tried to lift them. England fans, in the same situation (albeit not as bad, 0-0 rather than 0-3), booed. They booed their own team!It doesn't matter whether it's half time or at the end, doesn't matter who the opposition is - you don't pay to go out there to boo. It's not the ****ing theatre FFS. It's football, you're a supporter and you support your team. They booed at the end - so what, there's still all to play for. It's not like it's finished.
If they were out, it was all over and there was nothing left to play for, I'd have some sympathy. But not now. You save that **** for the pub afterwards.Last edited by Shaggy; 19-06-10, 12:37 PM.Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

England fans have a history of booing: other teams national anthems, poor performances, players they don't like, players because of their build/ the way they look. They also go on rampages through towns and cities causing trouble and smashing things up add to that the racism of the 80's.
A picture is starting to emerge. It's things like this that make you ashamed to be English, and they are one of the reasons I can't really get behind England (despite being English). I watch their games but feel no strong affinity towards either the team or the fans.
As much as I can understand their frustration (especially after last season) I still think the booing of your own team is out of order.Last edited by Exiled_red; 19-06-10, 12:38 PM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I'm talking about England as a whole, the people, not just the team thats on the pitch. Mind you, I still find it odd that LFC fans don't want to see Gerrard and Carra do well as a lot don't.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostWe're not having a go at england.
So how are we 'bitter towards england' ?Play Ball!!!!!!!
