To me Forlan was player of the tournament and what edges it over Bastian, Sneijder, Villa, Müller, Xavi, Iniesta and a couple more is that he carried his team through so many matches. He worked hard, crafted chances, initiated moves, scored goals and was just a complete forward for the tournament.

I agree with Diego Forlan, he just seems to get better with age.

Young player has to be Ozil without a doubt, what a breakthrough tournament he's had. For those not clued up about young players coming through, he's gone from virtually unknown to superstar in the space of a few days.

Sneijder IMO - overall he has been superb in the WC. He was quiet in the Final but still put a fantastic pass through to Robben who really should have scored.

He was very well known in Germany and for anyone who saw Werder in the UEFA cup 2 seasons ago.

For me it's Müller from Germany that takes young player of the tournament with 5 goals and 4 assists - incredible tournament for him. özil is a very close second for me.

To me also he had an incredible WC and even though I have seen him play before I cannot say that ever expected him to produce and perform on the world stage as he did. Absolutely amazing.

Müller and Bastian to me were the best midfield duo tandem of WC.
