it's a bizarre one - we have had a few discussions on here about him - from what i see, he seems to be the only youngster in italy at the moment worth shouting about - that seems to have over inflated his price tag and ego imo.

And it's not an awful bunch of players just awful collectively. There's plenty other very good attacking players that didn't get in. Like Guiseppe Rossi, Cassano and Fabrizio Miccoli for example. The reason he didn't get called is because Lippi is in his right mind not to call a 19 year old with a lot of potential opposed to established international players for arguably the biggest sporting event on the planet.

That being said he has been included in the squad for friendly against the Ivory Coast.
