Kevin-Prince Boateng leaves Portsmouth for Genoa then Ac Milan

Portsmouth have sold Kevin-Prince Boateng to Genoa for a fee believed to be around £5m, with the Italian club instantly loaning him to AC Milan.
The 23-year-old will spend the season with the Rossoneri, who already have a deal in place to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign.

Boateng, who helped Ghana reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup, joined Pompey from Tottenham last August.
The midfielder scored five times in 27 appearances for the south coast club.
Germany-born Boateng, who scored a penalty in Portsmouth's FA Cup semi-final win over Spurs before missing one in the final against Chelsea, was one of a number of players Pompey targeted to sell this summer to help fund their bid to exit administration.

Pompey chief executive David Lampitt said: "We wish Kevin all the best. He played an important role last season and we thank him for that."

Genoa president Enrico Preziosi told Corriere dello Sport that he did not expect Boateng to play for his club.
"Genoa were following Boateng before the 2010 World Cup in South Africa," he said. "It was a good shop window for him, but one cannot rely on a World Cup alone.
"Milan have an unusual situation, as they have many players in the last year of their contracts and are keeping an eye on the balance sheet.
"Instead we had more of an opportunity to move for Boateng. For now he is joining the Rossoneri on loan.

"Will he return to Genoa? He could do, but in a way I hope he doesn't. If Milan buy him outright then it'll mean we both saw this is a great player and Genoa will have made a healthy profit."

Very odd, why didn't Pompy just take a bigger offer from Milan?

apparently he never even went to genoa to discuss terms. it was all handled from the milan side. he went to milan, talked terms at milan and signed the contract at milan......something fishy going on in italian football again i reckon.

Italian football is always dodgy. So many players over there are joint-owned. Its ridiculous.

That whole joint-ownership bollocks is very odd.

Pompy would have asked for double if Milan went to them direct

                  How strange. Very bizarre.

                  Unless Milan are skint?! Perhaps?!

Maybe Berlusconi can't be arsed funding it anymore. Its weird that they got another club to buy a player so that they can then pay for him next summer. Dodgy as always

Actually I think Milan are skint (probably wouldn't go for Boateng if they weren't) but nevertheless this an odd way to do business, wonder if Genoa has nothing better to do with their 5 million though? Milan will maybe buy him for 7 million in the summer with a lump of cash going to the president of Genoa for his bit?
                        * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Shame, because i liked the player. Maybe is not of his doing at its all politics.

Very shady. Genoa must have an agreement that they'll profit from this transaction next summer.
