CIS was what was referring to, not CCCP. They were known as and called CIS.

CCCP MEANS 'Union of Soviet Socialist Republics' in Russian:

        Russian: Сою́з Сове́тских Социалисти́ческих Респу́блик

CIS is what they became known as after the USSR was disbanded. CIS never really stuck, it was USSR and then basically Russia. **** the 'CIS', even their flag was unrecognisable ****e :

Nobody would have a clue what that was

          Jari Litmanen.

Fantastic player. Shame that Houllier didn't realized that One of the all time greats.

Michael Laudrup is another one. We really ****ed up that one when we had the chance to sign him.

Yeah but the point is they were called CIS for a while and took part in Euro 92 as CIS. It didn't stick obviously.

I've blanked CIS from my mind! Don't remember that at all.

Yeah, and they finished bottom of their group, below Scotland

                CIS is ****.

                I rest my case

Robbie Fowler, adored by 100 000's of Liverpool supporters. One of most natural goal scoring talents ever. Should have been ever present for England and Liverpool under Houllier, but he wasnt. Such a ****ing waste of talent, the way he was overlooked, even today still pisses me off

Rune Bratseth, arguably the best central defender ever, played for Werder Bremen, if he wasn't from a small country (Norway) he would have been held in the same esteem as for example Lothar Mattheus.

"Well he's terrible on Sky Sports, wasn't he a good player?"

Which illustrates my point. Us 30 somethings know fine well how good Gullit was, but it hasn't been passed down. Kids know all about Maradona, Pele.....they don't all know about Gullit. And I'm sure he's never even heard of Redondo.
a little test on your 12 year olds cousin

ask him if Chesterfield is in the north or the east midlands

if he says midlands we can take his views seriously
