It is madness, I get it in the ear all the time about how United are CASH rich with £100m sat in a bank for them to draw upon. They don't seem to realise that anything they're earning is actually just servicing debt or even worse isn't going on debt but just the Glazers.

As much as I dislike the club it would be a travesty for United to fail just as much as it would be for us to fail.

It's called cheating or economic doping. Most of the clubs do it. Buy players with money then don't really have.

It's a very difficult problem to do something about.

I`ll keep well away from saying anything until we`re 100% sold, and the new owners have proved themself.

I think that's a completely different argument that has nothing to do with the topic. Manchester United's debt hasn't been incurred in buying players they can't afford but in the Glazers' purchase of the club.

Their situation is, in principle, exactly the same as ours. They just have bigger revenues to service that debt.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Apparently this £79.6m loss doesn't include the interest on their PIK loans - which is another £26m.

Not sure if that simply gets rolled up into the loan though?

So if it wasn't for the sale of Ronaldo United would have made a loss of £115 million or so in the last two years.

That is really staggering considering their match day revenues and commercial clout. As much as i dislike them it really is a disgrace that they (like us) can be run into the ground by greedy ****** businessmen such as the Glazers and the cunts.

Yup. It's the Glazers' cash cow in all honesty - their little piggy bank to go get their pocket money. Whilst they have the commercial clout, it only takes a few years of them not winning anything, their fickle fans and it could be their turn for a big fall.

The Glazers own a **** load of malls in the us that are now half empty. They are really struggling and I suspect they need to take money out if it'd to stay afloat. As with Hicks, they won't want to relinquish control.

Just out of curiosity what do the Glazers get out of owning Utd? if the club is not profitable then they surely are not making any money, doubt its the prestige.

I don't know the full details, but from memory they bought the club with borrowed money, and have then gone on to take millions out of the club - probably through dividends and bonds - as well as paying 'associates' administration fees which tend to be family members and I also think the club has *lent* to Malcolm's children.

It literally is a piggy bank, as Operation said earlier to pay their failing businesses in the US.

Yep, they're directly and indirectly taking money out of the club. Charging it hundreds of thousands of pounds for consultancy.

As long as they can sell United for a figure above and beyond the debt liability at somepoint in the future they don't care about the size of the debt figure IMO.
