I love it how the surrounding extend for ages around the stadium. Its absolutely bull****. We already have about 6 stadiums which can hold 35+ including 2 stadiums which can hold 80+ one of those with the capacity to return to being 105k (former sydney olympic stadium) Realistically we would only need to buy 2 stadiums. Also we have a climate people can stand without dieing of heat. The games would be night time here which would be early morningish for you guys..

On a LFC note how would you go about extending Anfield?
Hey ive spent 6 years of my life studying the ****. Its my right to show off!!

It depends what is around the ground. From memory there is the road and car park area....but thats all i saw.

Whats around the other sides? If its blocked in (which i assume it probably is) then there won't be many options other than to bulldoze those other properties. You could possibly build up a bit of the stand, but then you have the regulations on stairs and slopes to take into account.

They can get away with having really steep stands in Spain/Italy/Sth America as they are more relaxed with safety regs, but in Britain, USA and Oz they are ridiculously overboard on safety. You basically end up designing for the lowest common denominator (idiots). So they don't hurt themselves because the stairs weren't "normal". **** off

Anfield is fairly well penned in with roads and homes. The main stand and probably Anfield Road end are the ones to extend but i can't see how without buying and bulldozing the property and moving/diverting the roads.

SOS i believe talked about plans to redevelop, i'm sure they talked about spinning the stadium around.
            We come not to play.

              Yeah thought it was.

I'd have to see the plans and site plans to really be able to come up with an idea.

hmmm. There is definitely a fair bit of room to the right (carpark). Build that stand up, move car park underground.

Then **** those house at the back off and build that stand up

                  Sorted.

Would probably only get you an extra 10-15,000 max though.

Better off just building a 80k monster where we planned.

The one with the carpark is already the biggest stand (Centenary) so it doesn't make much financial sense to do that one though.

Being able to fill the corners in more effectively might work though

It wouldn't be worth the hassle IMO.

Just build a new one....and don't let the Qataries (****ed if i know what the cunts are called) design it.

                        Qataris

Agree about building a new one. Redevelopment is more likely under NESV though.

their bids - and of course the aussies have to be unimpressed with the qatar bid although the stadiums look far better.

But I agree it's a bid strange thinking of the world cup there...

We actually have some footballing history Qatar would struggle to qualify (do hosts have to qualify now) for the WC... If they hold it in Australia then could make the sport explode to new levels as well as boosting the A-League which could do with the help! Bring the FIFA World Cup to Oz 2022. "Come Play"

Host teams automatically qualifies, so that would hardly be the problem.

I don't know about the footballing culture there, but in some middleeastern countries it's a very big sport.

Also the distance in australia counts against them I would think, especially after South Africa where it caused quite some problems.

Its a world cup. whats the distance. You have to remember the world cup isnt made for european teams only. We are closer to the South American teams and Asian teams...
