Because they only hear one side of the story.. look mate, sunni people are frustrated as well. but not for the same reason the shiya are.. you see my freinds shiya people follow the instructions of their religous leaders. shiya religous leaders want a change because they want to make this country like iran.. Our government has some problems but not like the media are making it out to be. The king , crown prince and prime minister have done alot of things for this country. But for some people its never enough. You know the king just granted 1000 BDfor each bahraini family. thats quite a good amout since its relativly cheap here. our unemployment rate is 3.2% and declining each year. housing grants are given to every bahriani. medical services are free. teaching is free. retired people get free college education for free. and all of our commodties are supported by the government. we dont have oil like our neighbors but its still cheaper than a litre of water.

Media has it's own agenda, when do they ever give the full story?
                We come not to play.

true thats why I asked what I did

Most of my pals who work the territory usually out of Dubai say that minority Sunnis rule a majority of Shiyas but not every country is identical.

Its a complicated mess and Gadaffi in Libya wont go peacefully for example.

Not many countries will have a majority Shia, Iran, Iraq being two - Unsure about Bahrain. Qatar has a Sunni Majority.

20% of shiya in bahrain are from iran who only got citizenship maybe 10 years ago. they still cant even speak arabic properly. bahrain has sunni majority but only by a small percent maybe 2-5 %. Qatar has sunni majority maybe 95% are sunni maybe even more.

                        Conspiracy theory alert!!!!

If I was a Western superpower trying to really split the Islamic world, I would target the Sunni Shiya divide... oh hang on....

Still complete madness that a tournament as large as the WC is awarded 12 years prior to it being played.

Money talks I guess when it comes to FIFA and Blatter!

The length of time i suppose is so that stadiums/infrastructure can be built/be readied. If it was a shorter time it would favour the more developed countries.

How many years in advance is the Olympics awarded?

why dont they just build a few state of the art stadiums with closeable roofs and top notch aircon.

its not like they dont have enough money and with decent heat shielding for players they could feasibly host a summer world cup albeit indoor.
