I think that Madrid were probably wanting to leave him for another year to get a bit more experience, I suspect that had a bid come in from another club they would have made their move a year early to ensure they got him. It depends on his thinking, he'd probably be better for his development if he were to come to us (or another Premiership club), as he'll probably get less game time at Madrid due to the competition for places.
A number of very good young players have gone there and struggled to push on due to a lack of game time and not being in the team regularly, but it's constantly mentioned how much he admires Zidane and how that will be key to his decision...The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.Comment
